I finished my grandkids’s ornaments early this year. Emelie likes cats, Logan loves dachshunds, and Penny is into capybaras which I believe is the largest rodent in the world. She was very surprised!

My daughter’s wedding gown from 8 years ago. A true labor of love. It was a thrift shop bargain for $6 I believe. It turned out to be a designer dress from the late 50s/early 60s and in pristine condition. The only problem…it was about 4 inches too long and needed a few inches added to the width as well. It worked out and it fit her perfectly on her special day.

I’m baaaack! I guess I did not retire lol! My hands have healed but fingertips are still tingly. No matter…I can still work.

Note to my customers: I will not be taking in alterations until further notice due to carpal tunnel issues. I will have surgery in January and then decide if I continue or retire. Hope you have a happy holiday season!

This little dress is special. I gave it to Emelie as her last doll dress for her 16th birthday. I cut it from one of her mother’s high school formals that I made about 25 years ago. I had Jen’s full permission to cut up the dress. It was one of her favorites.

CATCHING UP

For several months I have gotten messages from Facebook that I need to post something on this page, but I admit I had gotten a little lazy about doing this. I have been busy with a little side job hemming high school ROTC pants for a dry cleaning store in Omaha. This is a great little job. It keeps me busy when I need something to do, but not so busy I can’t do fun things. It also gives me a little spending money for my little fun projects. I have a few projects to finish up in the next couple of weeks and then I am going to tackle my containers of fleece scraps. I will make some loveys for baby gifts to sell, and I would like to make mittens and little hats to donate to some of the homeless shelters this coming winter. It will be good to get a head start!

Hopefully I will be able to get some fleece baby blankies together this spring....there are at least two new babies coming to our extended family soon....not grandbabies....at least not yet! The more the merrier - baby blankets are my favorite things to sew.

If any of you in the Omaha area have clothing that you need altered, please PM me, and I will get back with you as soon as possible. I stay busy, but my turnaround time is usually never more than a week. Pants hems are usually completed in a day or two.

Thank you for all your “likes” and comments and support. It’s always fun to hear from friends. Bye for now!
