Oops. So I've been super busy, and neglected IG again. Most recently, I've been getting ready for my first craft fair this weekend (cue stress-induced panic attack!)
In an effort to catch up, I bring you the Flores Shawl by on .ravelry !
I actually preferred the original description, "mesh and solid", because that's exactly what this is - cleverly arranged blocks of straight dc and openwork. The pattern is super easy, but the effect, WOW.

Newly released shawl pattern from Katya ! This was one time failing at yarn chicken worked in my favor - knowing I wouldn't have enough of the brown to finish, I got to plan a little colorwork at the edges, giving it a really pretty finish. Love the lacy trim!

Nothing like pattern testing a super-complicated doily to shake things up! I can't get over the sheer variety of beautiful textures in this design. Sophia delivers yet another pattern full of complexity, detail, and elegant precision. Because it's fun to exercise our brains :)

I was THRILLED to come home yesterday to yarn mail! I love getting packages (I mean, who doesn't?), so when I know they're coming, I'm all about stalking the USPS... Very glad they just send me ALL THE ALERTS now, it saves me time spamming the refresh button :D Amusingly, one of these was coming from overseas, the other from Miami. They met up in Charlotte and took the last leg of the trip together. indeed!

BUT OMG THE YARN! The first was a gorgeous set from Mad Scientist Yarns which I'm actively restraining myself from diving into... (first deadlines first... But it's SO PRETTY! The sparkles!!!) Note the classy packaging - and a hand-written note :) I love indie makers
