24 years ago, the world changed.

I was a 1st grader in the Bronx, excited to learn whatever was on the schedule of the day when my mom rushed into the classroom saying I had to leave.

The memory replays in my mind so vividly. The fright in her eyes, the urgency, the confusion. Her fear for my uncles’ safety, and ours.

“What’s happening?”

As if anyone knew the true depth at the time, but how could it be explained to a child, anyway?

I remember waiting for my dad to return from work, his commute rising from 45 minutes to several hours. The Major Deegan being backed up for days - flags flapping in the wind.

“NY Strong.”
“God Bless the USA.”

I remember the vigils that went on for weeks, months. Posters of the missing, and likely, dead. Hearing names of people who’d been lost.

My family was fortunate. No losses, but only by the grace of God, did my uncle make it out of the NYSE mostly unharmed.

Our world forever changed that day. Let’s be the people we were on September 12, fighting for a common goal. Supporting each other, loving each other.

Let us never forget 9/11 and the lives of the innocent, the brave, and those still suffering 24 years later.

📌 PRAGUE INSPO

Today on Where to Wednesday, we’re headed to Prague! Let’s learn about its famous Charles Bridge ⤵️

The Charles Bridge is a historic 14th-century bridge that crosses the VItava River. The bridge was created under the direction of King Charles IV.

It’s the only way to cross the River and was historically important as a way to reach Prague Castle from Old Town. The Charles Bridge is perhaps best known for its incredible statues, which line both sides.

Unfortunately, the statues have all been replaced by replicas, but all still look just as old as the 17th-century originals. The statues depict many saints and hold religious value to the people of Prague.

Visiting Prague? Don’t miss Charles Bridge (Karluv most)

💨 When nature strikes back! 💨

Nestled in the northwest of Pennsylvania lay the ruins of a 19th-century viaduct. 🛤

Built in 1882, the Kinzua Viaduct was originally a 301 ft. tall and 2052 ft. long railway. It was an essential viaduct for the area due to its capability to cross the valley and transport goods.

As it aged, repairs and restoration were necessary. In 2002, they began. 🛠

Unfortunately, over 22 years ago, on July 3, 2003, a tornado’s winds caused the collapse of nearly all of the viaduct’s legs. 🌪

Sadly, it was too expensive to repair the then-defunct viaduct. Instead, it was decided to create the sky bridge from which I took these photos! Visitors can walk out 600 ft. - how cool! 🛤

The best part of visiting isn’t the views, but that anyone can visit the walkway, any day of the year, for free - thanks to its designation as a state park!

* Don’t forget to bring your state park book for your stamp * 📒

Feel free to explore the area, including hiking on the fallen legs, setting up a picnic, or fishing in the Kinzua River. An indoor exhibit also allows for background info about the viaduct. It’s an interactive exhibit great for kids! ✨

What’s the craziest result of a natural disaster you have ever seen? ⚡️

Yup, I said it! Sue me if you want (plz don’t 🫠)

I def fall into the unpopular opinion category of thinking Paris is way overrated. It’s a place you have to see, for sure, but I’m not sure it lives up to its hype.

I’ve been twice, and both times I was less than impressed. However — the views from the Eiffel Tower - 10/10

Where to go instead? STRASBOURG

Different vibe. Worth the price.

It’s full of history, less crowded and dirty, friendly people, and a great Christmas market, if that’s your thing. 🎄

What do you think? Agree or disagree on Paris being
