🇺🇸✨ 1776 Liberty Shawl TESTER CALL ✨🇺🇸

Okay so…I officially decided I need testers for this shawl because this pattern became WAY more complicated than my brain originally planned for. 😂

I care too much about this design to release it without testing first, so instead of releasing in June, I’ll be spending most of June testing and then hosting a knit along for the official release in July.

I’m looking for around 4–5 testers total! Deadline to completion is: June 20th, 2026 (slightly flexible)

This shawl includes:
🧶 texture
🧶 slipped stitches
🧶 shaping
🧶 stripes
🧶 sparkle yarn because apparently I can’t control myself 😂

One of my favorite things about this shawl is that it uses a sock set + two minis. Because if you’re anything like me, you probably own beautiful sock sets that deserve better than being hidden inside shoes all day. This pattern really lets the colors show off.

Also — you absolutely do NOT have to use red, white, and blue. I would love at least 2 patriotic testers, but I’d also LOVE seeing different color combinations because honestly I think this shawl would look good in almost anything.

Ideal testers:
❤️ comfortable reading patterns independently
🤍 willing to give honest feedback and catch mistakes
💙 okay with communicating during the test
✨ slightly unhinged enough to enjoy “just one more row” at midnight

If interested, comment below and I’ll send you the sign up form link!!! 🥹🇺🇸

Appreciation post!!! 🤍

I really don’t know how to put into words how proud I am of this girl.

Meredith, getting to watch you from the beginning to now has been the sweetest thing. This week was so special, and I’m really thankful I got to be there for it with you.

You work so hard for the things you care about, and it shows. Watching you step into what you love and actually go for it has been so cool to see.

I love you so much, and I’m always gonna be cheering you on. 🫶

Mother’s Day cards are ready 🤍

I painted these on days when I felt okay enough to sit down and create, so they’re a little imperfect and very real—just like the people we’re giving them to.

No two are the same. Just simple, hand-painted cards that say what sometimes feels hard to put into words.

Local pickup only.
If you see one you like, message me to claim it.
If you don’t see what you want, message me anyway—I can make something just for you.

Today is one of those days where I don’t really understand what God is doing, and if I’m honest, I don’t like it much either.

Living in a body that already struggles means I pick things up faster… and they tend to linger longer than I want them to. It’s frustrating. It’s exhausting. And some days, like today, it just feels unfair.

I don’t have a neat way to tie this up or make it sound pretty.

But I do know this:
My circumstances don’t get to rewrite who I am.
I’m still His.
Still held.
Still a daughter of the King, even when I’m coughing, worn down, and running on empty.

So today, I’m not trying to understand everything.

I’m just choosing to stay close.

If you’re in a day like this too—where things feel heavy or unclear—just hold on to Him.

That’s enough for today.

Designer’s Life 🧶

I don’t have a clean process.

I start things too late at night,
forget what I was doing by the next day,
and spend a solid amount of time trying to figure out what version of me wrote my own notes.

I’ll knit something, think it’s working,
then hit a row where everything looks off
and I can’t tell if it’s the pattern or if I just messed up three rows back.

Sometimes I don’t fix it right away.
I just stare at it.
Flip it inside out.
Count it again.
Put it down.
Pick it back up ten minutes later like something magically changed.

There are half-written patterns in my notes app,
random abbreviations I definitely thought I’d remember,
and at least one section in everything that had to be completely redone
because I tried to “make it work” instead of just starting over.

I rewrite a lot.
I second guess a lot.
I change things after I say I’m done.

And then eventually…
it gets to a point where I can read it without immediately wanting to fix something.

That’s usually how I know it’s finished.

“He is not here, for He has risen, as He said.” – Matthew 28:6 (ESV)

Happy Resurrection Day 🤍

I keep going back to this truth: He is risen. And somehow that doesn’t erase the hard or the slow, but it meets it. It meets the tiredness, the waiting, the questions I carry quietly.

This year, Easter feels like noticing the quiet work of resurrection in the everyday—the small, almost invisible ways life keeps moving forward even when I can’t. It’s in the moments I get out of bed even when my body aches, in the emails I send even when my mind is foggy, in the conversations I have even when my heart is heavy.

And I remember: “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow; because He lives, all fear is gone.”

Even when nothing feels fixed, even when the weight hasn’t lifted, the tomb is empty. And that truth is enough to meet me here, exactly where I am.

Somewhere between answering texts, fixing my own attitude, building this business, and trying to remember what I walked into the room for…

that’s where you’ll find me.

I’m encouraging people one minute,
needing the same reminder the next,
and quietly hoping the yarn doesn’t knot itself while I figure life out.

It’s not polished. It’s not perfectly balanced.
But it’s real—and I’m still in it.

Scrappy Sunday looked like digging through my yarn basket and finally using some of the little leftovers.

One blanket is crocheted hexagons made from scraps from past projects. The colors don’t really match and some of the hexagons are a little wonky, but I love seeing all those little pieces come together.

The other is a knitted mitered square blanket. Each square grows out from the last one, and slowly it turns into this cozy little patchwork.

While I was working I kept thinking about Isaiah 64:8: “We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”

Sometimes knitting or crocheting feels like a small way I remember that. Just showing up, working one stitch at a time, and letting God shape things as I go.

Row by row.
Hexagon by hexagon.
Square by square. 💛
