Happy 子供の日 (Children’s Day) 🎏 This photo of the handmade Koinobori was taken at the last year. I was so impressed with the craftsmanship of them all and realized it needed to be shared again.

Today, I had a beautiful day walking all over Central SD, exploring the nature San Diego has to offer, letting my body feel the joys of movement & being outside like when I was a child.

Happy AANHPI Heritage Month! I am so grateful to be apart of this beautiful community & all of the friendships we’ve made over the past few years through Minor. Having the opportunity to share a piece of my culture through my art has been such a wonderful experience and one that makes me feel proud everyday.

Everyday I reflect on what it means to be Japanese & American but especially this month, I think about how I show up authentically through Minor & as a business owner & I feel proud of what I’ve created, how far I’ve come & I look forward to sharing so much more with you. A big thank you to all of Minor’s supporters. I am incredibly grateful 🫶🏼.

We are so excited that the Shibori Dyed Noragi set was such a hit at our in person events 🫶🏼. We still have two more on hand (1) medium (1) large and they are now up on our site.

Happy New Years! 明けましておめでとうございます🎍！

2023 brought us another level of joy, friendship and success. We set some important goals for ourselves that we felt most aligned with our vision for Minor and I’m so grateful to say that we reached most of them. We dropped our second silhouette, collaborated with so many amazing Japanese businesses and organizations, and we landed in two Japanese owned boutiques in LA.

1. Began development of our Noragi Sets.
2. Sustainability Day Pop-up at
3. Began production on our Noragi Sets.
4. Japonesia Market at
5. Had our photoshoot for our Noragi Sets
6. Children’s Day Event at
7. Summer Festival Pop-up at

It has been a year of incredible experiences, highs and lows, that has helped us to achieve some of our own personal goals and we feel so proud that we made it through! Thank you always for your friendship and support.

We are looking forward to what 2024 brings us and setting new goals for another amazing year.

This past week was Obon (お盆) in Japan and like many festivals in Japan, if is celebrated at different times of the month throughout Japan. This weekend you will be able to find a Bon Odori in Yokohama, Japan.

Bon Odori is one of my favorite festivals that brings me back to my childhood. Dancing all night with my obaachan (grandmother) in my yukata at Mikasa Kōen, paying respect and celebrating our past loved ones.
