A little MINGA moment in Big Sur 🌼🌿

We stopped by Mother Botanical & Shop, one of our sweet retail partners, and finally got to meet the founder, Andrea, and see her beautiful space in person.

Nestled in Big Sur, Mother Botanical is an outpost for handmade goods and beautiful floral work! The kind of place that feels right at home with MINGA.

We’re so happy our beanies have found a home here, and even happier to keep growing our community alongside thoughtful, independent shops like this.

Some stories don’t get rushed 🤍 in the background of this small brand, we’re working on something that goes deeper than a sale or a product on our website…

Over eight years ago, our founder Emily Rathmanner met a group of women here in Intag, Ecuador and together created what you know as MINGA | Handmade Sweaters, Hats, Bags + More. Long before we existed, these women were already keeping an art form alive, generation after generation, creating products , a fiber harvested by hand from the penca (agave) plant.

We’re exploring their rich story and knowledge, why this craft has started to disappear, and these women’s quiet, lifelong connection to the earth — alongside a dream team of creatives Joe M. Han Emily Rathmanner Ricardo Ramos Pri | Photo + Video and more.

Lately at home ➿ The last days of August always feel nostalgic 🤍 grateful for orders going out, time spent offline, in inspiring places while still appreciating a sense of home.
