Wonderful parade today!

How do we acclimate dogs to weird noises and sounds? We put them in positions to learn how to work through it, versus avoiding it. In our obedience training, we teach our clients how to handle the leash, the dog and what the psychology behind what we are doing is. I would rather be able to have my dog with me whenever, in whatever environment without any problems, or mental breakdowns. It teaches them life skills that they should have living in a human world.

🐱 Even Udders the kitty likes to hold down stays!

🐾 What is the importance of a down stay?
1. Your pup can’t run over to guests who come over.
2. They can’t get into the garbage or “counter surf”.
3. They can’t run out into the road/put themselves in a dangerous position

🐾 The downstay gives the dogs a good solid job that is mentally stimulating.

🐾Dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes are working dogs. They were all bred for a reason!

🐾 A spot and downstay command are inherently the same thing with the exception of the spot being a defined area with which you put your pup (usually on a cot or bed) and a downstay can be anywhere.

🐾 Setting boundaries for your pup is huge! You want them to be safe, reliable and healthy, and so do we!
