Kismet SF

Kismet SF high-vibe workshops for the curious and creative While navigating our own futures, we couldn’t help but feel that something was missing in our pursuits.

Leah Abrahams & Natalie Rizzo bring over 7 years of creative experience in the fashion and beauty industries, having worked for brands like InStyle, Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs Beauty, Kat Von D Beauty, Elizabeth and James NIRVANA, Ole Henriksen, Formula X and Bite Beauty. We established KISMET as a way to aggregate the topics that we were so desperately hoping to learn about, and share this knowledge with members of our beloved community. We can't wait to meet you!

To our dear Kismet community,

We've been quiet on here recently, taking time to process all that has unfolded, both on an individual level and in the collective. To sit with and feel our feelings. To not push away the pain and suffering among us. To grieve and face the unknown with our whole hearts. This is why we do the work: to equip us for these moments.
〰️
At the same time, we are taking this opportunity to honor this global standstill: something that has never happened before in our lifetimes and - if we're lucky - will never happen again. In this pause, we are using this moment to do exactly that: slow down, take stock, and go within.
〰️
In this inward moment, we have chosen not to offer virtual offerings at this time. Instead, we will be sharing resources and offerings from practitioners and teachers in our network who are creating supportive experiences - many of which we are participating in as we ourselves dive into this internal terrain. We hope you will explore them if that feels restorative. And if you choose to take a break from the digital space until we can gather again, we understand and embrace that choice wholeheartedly. To engage or to go within. There is room for all of it.
〰️
Sending you all the biggest heart hugs. Look out for recommended resources from us. And we can't wait to give all of you a squeeze in IRL when it's safe to gather again.

Loving you all,
Leah & Natalie

{Burning Man PT II} // I’m headed back to the dessert this weekend and feeling all the excitement/nerves/anticipation. My fiancé founded a theme camp 6 years ago and last year I hesitantly embarked on my first voyage to the playa. Days 1-3 were hard. I was hot, dusty, anxious and uncomfortable. Everyone around me seemed to experiencing some kind of magic that eluded me.

But on day 3 something started to shift. The social pretenses of the “real world” started to slowly melt away. I found a camp full of energy workers and healers where I had a profound and deeply resonant spiritual reading with my fiancé. I cried at an altar at the temple and witnessed so many others around me on the same journey. I led a grief circle. I found the cauldron of healing that I had been looking for.

I’ve been thinking long and hard about my intentions for this year, and the themes of *joy* and *play* keep bubbling up. Dance. Art. Exploration. I am feeling more robust this year — more comfortable in my skin, more curious — and my hope is to lean into this feeling. And most likely, a different kind of healing will emerge. ✨

Who else is headed to the dessert? Come find me! 4:30 + G Plaza.

{HEALING THE FATHER WOUND} // "It's not your fault. But it is your responsibility."

These words were shared with us last night by and we're still integrating and processing their meaning. Together, we unpacked the role we play in healing, both our own and the collective. The ancestral trauma and stories we carry. And our approach to moving forward.

With warmth and wisdom, Kat created a container for us to navigate the pain, trauma, shame and heartbreak of wounding incurred through painful relationships or experiences with father figures, including abandonment, abuse, death, mental illness, estrangement. We talked about the guilt we can feel if perhaps we have *good* relationships with our fathers, but are still left wanting more. And we discussed how we can change these patterns for generations to come.

Thank you, Kat, for creating such a safe container, and to our beautiful community for showing up with vulnerability and open-heartedness. We are so grateful for all of you.

An integral aspect of stepping into our power, strength and purpose as adults involves the willingness to explore, grieve and move on from our past wounding. We’ve been loving the podcast and can’t stop thinking about her recent episode with writer David Brooks. Brooks discusses what he deems the “second mountain top” that we all must aspire to reach in our lives. Who are we once we’ve checked all the boxes and received the accolades? What defines a life that is inherently meaningful? How can we be of service? He cautions:

“We bury the faint crackling of our inner fire under safer noises and settle for a false life.”

This weekend we’re focused on accessing the crackling inner fire deep within, through play, rest and deep connection. How are you nurturing yours? (PS you can start by listening to this podcast episode, and reading Brooks’ NY Times article, ‘The Moral Bucket List’).

As with many practices and modalities, when the idea of something felt awkward or uncomfortable, I would ever-so-slightly slip it under the rug, not avoiding it, but tucking it away until I felt “ready”. Not that I wasn’t profoundly interested or curious, but more so that I was subconsciously judging myself. There was this voice saying, ‘If I want to explore that, then something must be wrong with me’ or ‘If I “need” that, I’m clearly lacking somewhere’. Well what I’ve learned is that discomfort and shame mean there is usually room to grow and that it may actually be the perfect time to dive right in. This was the start of my journey into conscious s*xuality. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Though I’m early on in my journey, what I do know wholeheartedly is that it’s about much more than just “s*x”. It’s about primal connection and emotional intimacy. It’s about connecting to and finding balance within yourself, not just with your partner. Who wouldn’t want to strengthen that?⠀⠀
⠀⠀
and I were serendipitously introduced to by a Kismet community member just as this topic was starting to bubble up in many of our conversations. I cannot wait to introduce Bibi to our community next week and soak up all of her insight and energy around something that can breathe so much life back into all of us. ⠀

I keep thinking, if we can shift the narrative from ‘I’m doing this so something must be wrong’ to ‘I’m doing this because I want to grow and evolve’, it just may help free us from judgement of one another and even of ourselves. ⠀⠀

NEXT WORKSHOP: INTRO TO ENERGETIC LO******NG, 5/31

Are you craving more from your s*xual experiences? Curious how to tap into your s*xual energy, or harness your desires? Looking to deepen the intimacy in your life?

We're are thrilled to announce our partnership with Bibi Brzozka on our upcoming workshop, Introduction to Energetic Lo******ng. Combining theory and simple, short practice, Bibi's signature class shifts people's perception of s*xuality and allows them to understand the potentialities of s*x for accessing peak experiences of love, increased bliss, oneness and healing.

Bibi offers tangible takeaways and clear tips for how to harness your own s*xual energy, to relate consciously to your partner, to exchange energy and deepen intimacy. She follows up this conversation with a powerful practice portion, combining breath, sound, movement and creative visualization to solidify her teachings.

This is an individual experience and partners are not required (though +1's are definitely welcome!). Bibi is traveling to SF from Tulum for this one-of-a-kind experience. We hope you'll join us.

October 24th :: Full Moon in Ta**us

Today’s Full Moon in Ta**us is all about grounding into our bodies. Ta**us is the sign of sensuality, of inner peace, of simplicity. Salt of the earth kind of pleasures. This moon wants us to come back to our foundations and enjoy each moment as we move through our days. Ta**us is a luscious, earthy sign, and you may feel an intense gravitation towards the simple things.

At the same time, this moon is conjunct Uranus. Conversely, this aspect is asking us to innovate, to shift. To release those outdated belief systems, and hold on a little less tightly to the identities of ourselves we’ve become attached too. Change is beautiful, and even though it’s stubborn, the practical Ta**us knows this well. Let’s let ourselves believe it, too. 🕊
