🚛 TAX SEASON: DON'T LET YOUR HARD-EARNED CASH FADE AWAY
Listen, we know the road is tough, but April is even tougher. While you're out there clocking miles and hauling freight, Uncle Sam is waiting to take his cut. We’ve been talking to a lot of drivers lately, and the stress is real.
Tax season shouldn't be a roadblock. Here’s a quick "Pre-Check" to make sure you’re not leaving money on the table:
🛠️ The "Big Three" Deductions You Can't Miss:
The Per Diem Rule: This is your bread and butter. If you’re away from home, you’re entitled to a daily allowance for meals and incidentals. It’s one of the biggest tax breaks for OTR (Over-The-Road) drivers. Use it.
Every Repair Counts: From a $500 tire to a $5 bottle of window cleaner—if it keeps your rig moving, it’s a deduction. Keep those receipts organized (pro tip: take a photo of them before they fade in the sun).
Your Cab is Your Office: Electronics, logbooks, CB radios, and even your bedding for the sleeper berth. If you bought it for the truck, it belongs on your tax return.
⚠️ A Friendly Reminder:
Don't wait until April 14th to scramble. The IRS doesn't care if you had a flat tire or a late delivery. Get your paperwork in order now so you can focus on what you do best: Keep America Moving.
We’re not tax pros, just folks who respect the grind. Stay safe out there, keep the shiny side up, and let’s get through this month in one piece.
Respect the Drive. 🫡
