Southern California Iris Society, aka SCIS, holds regularly scheduled meetings at the Los Angeles Arboretum in the Lecture Hall (known as the Bamboo Room) at 10:00 a.m. Meetings are on the 4th Saturday in the months of January, February, March, June, August, September and October. Hi Everyone! Thanks for coming to the show yesterday. It was a really great show, and the judges were phenomenal!
We have a few iris rhizomes left. In two weeks, we expect to have a lot more iris for sale as several gardens that couldn't provide iris last year will be providing some beauties this upcoming sale.
Lynn McIlwain won Best of Show with "Mindblowing," a tall bearded. He also won the Silver Medal for the most amount of 1st place ribbons. Leigh Nicolai-Moon won the Bronze Medal for 2nd most 1st places. Derry Gerald won the Best Artistic Design and also Artistic Sweepstakes (which is the most 1st place ribbons in the Artistic division).
I will post pictures and more details this week.
