It's been a while since I posted anything here. I have been overwhelmed with the welcome I have received coming back to Seattle, and at the beginning of this year, I was completely swamped with new orders. Unfortunately, I became sick in February and I was down for 6 weeks. I could still work through a lot of it, but I did fall behind. Mainly because I have taken in such a large number of orders, and also the sinus infection I developed caused me to have bad headaches, so I could not work. You have all been so very kind to me and shown me so much understanding and patience. I am happy to say I am feeling much better and slowly catching back up. I wanted to show you one piece I am particularly proud of. This is a blanket a woman bought in Ireland and carted all over the country only to have her new puppy decide to have it for lunch the minute she got home. He did a real number on it, pulling the warp and weft tight and shearing them all off. I tried first to add new threads before flattening it because I knew when I flattened it that it would completely unravel but that didn't work so I had to bite the bullet and flatten it out without the threads and then slowly rebuild the cloth. In the end I was able to weave it all back together and make it whole again. It is not a perfect job but it is so much better than what I expected. What do you think?
