It’s Earth Day, also known as National Greenwashing Day.
A few of the gazillion false good ideas that are just clever marketing:
🤑 Focusing ads on the 1% of sales / capsule collection that is a bit less bad than the other 99%
🤑 Swapping / blending synthetics with natural sounding fibers like bamboo or tencell, which are actually very resource intensive
🤑 Using recycled synthetics without asking whether plastics should be produced in the first place
🤑 Touting take back programs that end up in landfills
🤑 Boasting front office energy reductions while not addressing the real issues in the entire supply chain
🤑…and our favorite, marketing as green some “natural” fibers that are choke full of chemical treatments and toxic dyes
