Truth
Remember the feeling of walking into a video store on a Friday night? There was something truly magical about browsing the horror section. You would pick up a VHS tape, look at the creepy cover art, and read the summary on the back. Sometimes, the box art was so scary it stayed with you for weeks - even if you weren't allowed to rent it yet.
Streaming gives us thousands of horror movies at the click of a button, but it completely misses the physical experience. It lacks the classic tracking lines on the screen, the satisfying click of pushing a tape into the VCR, and the excitement of finding that last rare copy on the shelf. The VHS era didn't just give us great movies: it gave horror a unique personality and community that an internet algorithm can never replace.
