Revolution Eyewear was started by Gary Martin in his Father-in-law’s garage in 1993. From the beginning, Revolution was the first company that offered a free clip-on with every frame purchased and was the first company to offer a full line of barless clip-ons. In 1998, Revolution rolled out Innovative Magnetic Force Technology, also known as Bottom Mounted Magnetic Eyewear. Over the years, Revolut

ion has continued to add exciting new lines using its Bottom Mounted Magnetic Eyewear. In 2005, Revolution improved their Bottom Mounted Magnetic Eyewear technology by building the magnets into the frame’s structure itself. This major improvement provides a sleeker and cleaner appearance so that unsightly magnets and pockets cannot be seen with the naked eye. The company has received numerous awards from the business community and the optical industry for its innovative designs. Revolution’s first licensing deal was with Disney in 2005 to produce and sell That’s So Raven Eyewear. Aimed at the ‘Tween diva, Revolution has incorporated its bottom mounted magnetic frame technology. These cutting-edge styles also feature crystals from the House of Daniel Swarovski.

2008 saw Revolution go in an entirely new direction by offering its first licensed sunwear brand aimed at adults – Ed Hardy Vintage Tattoo Eyewear. Reviewed as the single most outrageous sunwear line in the industry, major department stores immediately picked up the brand. Ed Hardy Sunwear became the hottest selling brand in Nordstrom. In addition, thousands of retailers across the country ordered the line for their stores. Eyewear professionals also ordered Ed Hardy Street Eyewear for Boys with magnetic clip-ons that use Revolution’s auto-aligning "Mag-N-Socket"™ system. These frames definitely add "Tuff to your Tyke!"

In 2008, Revolution introduced its coolest, cutting edge collection of sunwear – Christian Audigier. Revolution fused Christian’s Rock and Roll with a Soul attitude along with the best elements of Hot Rod, Tattoo, and a touch of Bad Ass to create a distinctive, rich, lifestyle brand of eyewear that is full of life and color. Revolution brought True Religion Eyewear on board with a bang in 2009. True Religion’s immensely popular design-based jeans and casual wear brand known for its edgy-bohemian style and Horseshoe trademark logo has now been extended to sunwear. Targeted to men and women 18 to 45, the collection launched with 13 sunglasses in monel and zyl that include shields and aviators in both rimmed and rimless designs. Frame colors range from metal tones to shades of black, brown, tortoise, and olive with matte and shiny finishes. The True Religion collection incorporates the finest quality lenses that Revolution has ever used.
