"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." -2 Corinthians 9:7
One of the things that has been very important to me as I try to grow my art business is giving back, not only am I called to give as a Christian, but the organizations I give to support causes near and dear to my heart. The one I want to highlight today is Zoe Ministries: Hannah's House, a safe home for female s*x-trafficking survivors. 5% of all proceeds from my art business go to Hannah's House.
I was first connected with Zoe Ministries just about 2 years ago at one of my best friend's birthday dinners, where I met one of the women who is heavily integral to Hannah's House (read more about Hannah's House below). I knew right away that it was an organization I wanted to offer support to in any capacity I could. Not only is it very similar to another organization my church supports in West Africa, and I've supported for years, but I could just tell that Hannah's House was special. Plus, it's right here in Delaware!
From Zoe Ministries: "The mission of Zoe Ministries is to provide safety, healing, and advocacy for those impacted or potentially impacted by s*x trafficking. Zoe Ministries has opened a safe home for female s*x-trafficking survivors, ages 12-17 years. Situated in an undisclosed location for residential living and care, each resident will have a case plan with wrap-around services to meet her needs. Every case plan will include individualized therapy and trauma counseling, equine therapy, and mentorship, medical services, education, legal aid, employment and life skills, and spiritual studies if desired. All staff and volunteers are highly trained and trauma-informed. At Zoe, we live in an authentic loving relationship, without judgement or condemnation. We persevere through struggles and overcome obstacles as a family."
