Alrighty, coming up to the end here, folks! I just added some bleach caps, an oopsie half-frame bag, a used full -frame bag for that aspiring shredpacker out there, and a few other random bags to the site, priced to move! An email told me today that there are only 10 days left before my site subscription expires, so if ya want em, go get em!
Additionally, I'm still working through my final orders and in the fog of the last month or so, I forgot to post some of the sweet bags that were sent out recently! Thank you all for these fun projects and everyone for the words of support as we approach the Omega. Happy trails out there!

HuRaCaN '26 in the books! The most casual, tour-y Huracan yet! After a tough first day, we decided to not stick strictly to the route we set out on, instead chopping up all the different route options as needed or desired and it changed my whole brain about what this event can be. Snakes, sand, afternoon naps, and wild citrus. Such a great ride! Huge thanks to for being a great riding partner and, of course, the genius for his tireless work at keeping us on our toes! Already planning for '27!

First weekend in February and you know what that means.. HuRaCaN time! This year, I have returned once again with my Speedbomb and I can't wait to spend a few days out getting weird with it. I even tried my hand at a basket bag for it and I can think of no better proving ground than 400 mixed-surface miles in central Florida!
It's coincidental but fitting that my closing down of Ghost Cat happened around the same time as Huracan this year as I made my first two frame bags to get my partner and myself kitted up to take on the Huracan way back in 2018! A nice closing of a circle, I think. Photos 3-5 are from that trip. Didn't even have a logo yet! So young. Photo 5 is when the course used to go through Lake Louise State Park back in the day. To this day I know I'm in Huracan country when I see that red sand! Kudos to for so many years of hard work to make this event amazing every year. Here's to many more!
I'll have a tracker with me and you can follow along if ya want by going to trackleaders.com and clicking on 'HuRaCaN 300 2026'. The initials on my little flag are JR.
This has been a bit of a chaotic and stressful prep leading up to the chilliest Huracan I've done yet, not unstressed about it, but as the wise man says, 'whatever happens happens'! See y'all on the other side!

Hello all! Just a quick heads-up that Ghost Cat will be shutting down for good at the end of Feb. A huge thank you to anyone who has ever ordered a bag, told their friends or the internet about their bags, bought a hat or shirt or patch for themselves or for a friend, invited me to table at a show, grabbed a sticker and/or said hi at said shows, provided their opinions and help, boosted the brand, or otherwise supported GCB over the years, it has been a great ride and I appreciate you all! 🙏😽
A couple biz notes:
-The website is still up and there are shirts, hats, and patches still available, now at closeout prices. If you've ever wanted some GCB merch, now's the time!
-I will also be adding a few new bleach hats as well as some prototypes, oopsies, gently used bags and some new bags on the site in the near future and I'll post it here when it happens.
-And finally for now, even though I won't be a business anymore, I'd still like to keep all the Ghost Cats out there running as long as possible, so please hit me up if you need anything repaired or fixed!
Next up for me is a position working on cycling access and inclusion with here in Indiana. The work will be mostly programmatic, and I'm looking forward to creative problem solving on a community-wide scale. I've been working at PTC part time for a bit now, but I'm stoked to get into it more with my great teammates!
Thank you all, again, and happy trails out there! -Josh

Dipping back through the photo library and found a bunch of work I never got around to posting. Here are some of the highlights from the past few months. Teal, mulberry and coral hit big this summer, fer sure! Will we see a shift to coyote, olive, and orange combos with the change of seasons? 🍂
Big thanks to all the support and fun projects!

Thanks for the photo, KM! Keep gettin' out there!

Cat appreciation post! I love our cat crew. No surprise to any fans of the channel. Equal parts quirky and inscrutable, charming and frustrating, affectionate and stand-off-ish, they provide endless entertainment and comfort. We are super lucky to have adopted the five pictured here from the best shelter I've ever been to in Thomson, Me. The love they showed for both the animals in their care and the folks who walk through the door made us immediately comfortable as we went room to room meeting all the residents. Hyde and Piper, in the first photo were a special-needs bonded pair that we loved instantly. Berry, in the second photo, came from a neglectful situation and only through the hard work and patience rebuilding trust by the staff at Pope, has he been given a second life to spend his senior years with us. We brought them home in March of 2020, before the shutdowns, and I can't imagine those years without them.
Next came Doctor, an independent 5 month old tuxedo, transplanted from the Carolinas by Pope. He and Hyde became close, until Hyde's premature passing. Hyde was bonded to Piper, but he got along with everyone, and at over 15lbs, a true gentle giant. Miss you everyday, big guy, but so thankful for the time we got to spend together.
Frannie was love at first sight, such a beautiful whorled brown and white tabby. Little did we know how much of a troublemaker she'd be! The most curious cat I've ever known, has to get up on everything, in everything, try every plant, out the door as much as possible, but so much fun to be around! She was the last cat we got from Pope, and had we stayed in Maine, I'm sure we'd have more! 😻😸, so I guess this started as a cat appreciation post, but it's also a Pope appreciation post, and they will be May's donation recipient. Give them a follow for great stories of rescue, rehabilitation and a steady stream of the cutest animals looking for forever homes! If you're anywhere in the MidCoast Maine area, pay them a visit! You might find what you didn't know you were looking for!
