The part people underestimate? How long healing actually takes. 🤕

A piercing can look great on the outside while the tissue inside is still rebuilding. Looking healed and being healed are two very different things.

And healing isn’t linear.

It can look perfect for weeks, get a little red or swollen, develop some crusties, feel tender again, calm back down, and keep right on healing. ❤️‍🩹

That doesn’t mean you’re suddenly back at square one.
Even a piercing that’s been doing great can get irritated from sleeping on it, snagging it, pressure, changing jewelry too soon, or simply because your body is still working through the healing process. 🦾

Lobes can take a few months to fully heal. Cartilage can take 12 months or longer. Yes, even longer. 🤕

Your body is literally creating and strengthening a new channel of tissue around that jewelry, and that doesn’t happen overnight.‼️

So if your piercing is two months old, or even 6 months old and suddenly acting a little dramatic, it doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong.😑

Give it time. Let your body finish the job.

And remember: feeling better is not the same as being finished healing.❤️‍🩹

Piercings are quick. Healing them is the commitment. ✨
