Motherhood often gives us several reasons to grumble. The sleepless nights, messy houses, being constantly interrupted, or feeling unappreciated. Paul tells us in Philippians 2:14, “do everything without grumbling or arguing”.

But it’s so easy to complain about every. little. thing. Why? Because that’s how our nature is. Especially when our day-to-day tasks are greatly repetitive: dishes, laundry, cleaning, disciplining kids…over and over again.

Paul connects complaining to trust. When we complain, we’re basically saying, “God, this shouldn’t be my life right now.” God is working us through these hard moments to shape us into His perfect soldier.

Paul gives us this command in verse 14 because complaining damages unity, witness, JOY, and our trust in God. Can anyone else relate that they are so down in their feelings when they complain all the time? 🙋🏼‍♀️ I know I can. Instead, join me in trying to say, “God, thank you for these trials. Help me have your strength to make it through this tough day.”
