I'm beyond excited for my neighbors at BookMarx to be expanding into my former space! Double the books, double the magic, and double the space for their resident kitty, Ms. Cyrano, to explore!

They will be expanding their children's section, bookish gift options, and introducing a beautiful intimate performance space! 🥰 My heart is happy knowing the space I poured so much love into is in good hands. The BookMarx family will do wonderful things!

Happy Sunday, Friends ☀

Yesterday was my last day open at Austen Boutique. I'm not quite ready to reflect on this chapter in a post, I just need a little time and space to reflect, but that will happen next week, as will the drawing for the reading challenge winner, I promise! 😘

Right now my focus is on getting this historic space ready for its' next tenants (I can't wait for you to find out who is moving in!), and that means finding homes for these remaining beautiful pieces! These would be great for somebody with an antique booth (to sell or use as displays), a retail business, or if you want a unique piece in your home! Please send to anyone you think may be interested - must be picked up by the 29th.

Vintage Door Shelves: 4 Total, can be hinged together to be freestanding - as I have them - or mounted individually on the wall. From a 100+ year old house with original crystal k***s. Really unique display pieces! Asking $225 for all 4.

SOLD XL Reclaimed Wood Hutch: The back of this says "Another Tree Saved! '07" with a man's signature. It is an absolutely beautiful, unique, and sturdy piece. Measures 80.5" Tall, 63.5" at widest point, 21" deep. Asking $400.

Solid wood 4-post clothing racks: I have 4 of these, originally from PFI Western Store, super sturdy. Asking $125 each, or all for $400.

Custom Made Clothing Rack: Industrial Post w/wood shelf top and bottom, on wheels. Asking $100.

Silver Metal Rack: Has adjustable feet, not on wheels, Asking $75.

SOLD Pair of Wicker Back Chairs: Gold/White floral fabric seats. Asking $50 for the pair.

40% Off in-store and online!

If you're shopping online use code Austen40 at checkout to apply the discount (www.austenboutique.com ). Please note, as of now I plan on shutting down the website after today (4/23). Keeping up with online orders while maintaining a very busy storefront has been a lot to juggle, and I'm not sure it's something I can sustain as traffic increases over the weekend and I want to prioritize in-person shoppers. I will update you if that changes.

I still have some fixtures and decor pieces available! Those items are not taxed and the store discount does not apply.

If you are able to pay with cash I greatly appreciate it, those credit card fees really add up, especially as discounts increase.

Thankyou for supporting me. I'm alternating between extreme sadness and extreme gratitude this week, with very little in between😭. It is SO hard to watch something I've built be dismantled piece by piece and that slightly blurry glassy-eyed first photo is a very accurate representation of how I'm feeling at the moment 🫠.

The time has come, my VERY LAST What are you Reading Wednesday post 😭, featuring my recently bloomed lilies 🌺.

I’m feeling a lot of feelings this week, my final week owning Austen Boutique. Right now there is a lot of sadness that this is coming to an end, sadness that I’ve built this beautiful space that I’m now dismantling, and sadness that I will no longer see all of the amazing people that have become regulars. It’s a dull ache in my chest I can’t quite shake this week, but it doesn’t change the excitement I have for my next journey. I’m just sad to see this one coming to an end 😔.

Okay, now, books! 😅

Although I am normally a very seasonal reader I picked up this little holiday book “Lovelight Farms” because it is the first in a 4 book “series” (parentheses because contemporary romance series can generally be read out of order with no issues, but I like reading them in order if possible!) by BK Borison, whose other work I’ve loved (First Time Caller and Good Spirits!). I’m enjoying it so far, it’s light, fluffy, and exactly what I want at this moment 📕.

The storewide discount has increased to 30%! I have always strived to price items fairly from the start, meaning this discount is truly a GREAT deal! This would be an excellent time to stock up on holiday and birthday gifts for the bookish people in your life! (or yourself 😉).

If you are able to pay cash I would greatly appreciate it, as card processing fees add up, especially when items are discounted.

I am also beginning to individually price some decor pieces around the store ❤.
