I got to play cowgirl today and doctor some calves with my main man Diablo! 🤠🩷 it was a bit chilly this morning, so I threw on my handy dandy handmade wild rag and rode on! They’re good for more than just the show pen 😉

I love a good antique fair find! I grabbed some large embroidery hoops, then later on found an early 1900-1910s Butterick cross stitch transfer patterns for towels and such! Super cool and super grandma millennial nerd stuff 🤩

I always tend to have my hands going - whether it’s knitting, embroidery, cross stitching, whatever it may be! And I always have like 5 work in progress projects going (in all that spare time I have 😂).

Ever seen the inside of a wedding dress!? I sure have 🤠

This bride needed the front side seams taken in to obtain the perfect fit. Here’s how I did it!

1. Pin desired alteration at her fitting appointment
2. Measure and mark where the pins were, on the inside and the outside layers
3. Carefully take off beading on the outside layer
4. Undo stitching on inside layer, take a peek inside to find an additional lining layer and lots of boning! Keep marking measurements
5. Make desired alteration on the inside of the outer most layer
6. Make desired alteration on the inner lining layer
7. Reattach boning and pin innermost layer closed
8. Hand sew innermost layer closed, create and attach special heart patch on inside of the dress
9. Reattach beading on the outside of the dress, remove any leftover marks
10. Retry dress on at pickup appointment and achieve the perfect fit

This type of alteration takes time and precision in each layer of fabric. I was super surprised to find an additional inner lining layer and so much boning inside! But we managed to create the perfect fit for the beautiful bride💖
