Had to post my sassy three year old playing doctor on Match Day. Shoutout to the physicians and especially the physician moms out there. Whenever imposter syndrome creeps in, walk the hospital halls with the confidence of this little girl who has zero doubts that she’s the boss.

The even cooler part is that the Namaste India exhibit from now travels!! So our Sitaara Shop items have made their way to in May 2022 and to in January 2023!

May 2021 marked the opening of Namaste India, a cultural exhibit at our local (and nationally recognized) children’s museum- the one and only

The Sitaara Shop play food was featured in the sweet shop section as well as the home kitchen area. Kids were able to create their own plate of mithai and learn through the vibrant shapes, colors and textures. In the kitchen they could build their own tiffins made with our play food.

This exhibit was so extraordinary- from posing with Bollywood stars, playing cricket taking a rickshaw ride to the Taj Mahal, making roti in the dhaba, trying on saris, smelling spices, practicing yoga, buying groceries with rupees and bargaining 😂 - they did an incredible job and it was such a privilege to be a small part of Namaste India!!

I’ve been pretty quiet around these parts because, life… but also social media is just hard (shoutout to for educating me about the harms). We’ve been out of stock on Etsy for awhile now. But with Holi and Ramadan/Eid and Easter around the corner, I thought… mithai!!! Well mithai for kids to play with as an entry point into an understanding and love of South Asian culture. Because play is everything in the life of a child.

So follow along because I’ll be sharing what The Sitaara Shop has been up to (hint hint children’s museums around the US whaat?!) and also about a limited supply of play mithai sets available for purchase soon. Thanks for your support, please share widely fam ❤️
