The little girl who spent the afternoon rearranging her room is now curating a cozy home that her family and friends can enjoy.
The little girl who created new concoctions with her Easy bake oven every chance she got- now enjoys homemaking and baking- trying new recipes + perfecting old favorites.
The little girl who was always planning the next celebration or sleepover- is now hosting and creating traditions every chance she gets.
So here is your reminder to try some of those things the younger version of yourself loved- you may just find that they still bring you joy.

āš ļøHave you ever stumbled upon a stunning vintage lamp, only to discover it doesnā€™t work or looks like it may be a fire hazard? Iā€™ve had a few lamps sitting around begging for some attention and I decided today was the day they needed to be fixed.
I ordered a replacement kit and within 30 minutes I had repaired both lamps! The best part is the kit was about $10 making it a super affordable option instead of replacing the entire fixture! Iā€™m happy to send you the šŸ”—šŸ”— to the kit I used.

šŸ‚Hello from my front porch- is it anything spectacular? Of course not- but itā€™s simple and fun. Just a reminder that you donā€™t have to go overboard to have a lovely home. This whole display cost less than $100 and that includes the rugs and the vintage planter. I like to keep my fall decor simple because I know I love decorating for Christmas November 1st.

šŸ•ÆļøWould you believe me if I told you I used to be so embarrassed to go thrifting? My mom + sisters have always loved to go, but I was just so embarrassed by it. It wasnā€™t until I really started to recognize how much overconsumption there is in our world that I even had the desire to source things secondhand.
Now you can find me at the thrift store multiple times a week hunting for my next treasure. I used to think thrifting meant you ā€œcouldnā€™t affordā€ new- but now I know that I was dead wrong. Thrifting is a small way I can make an impact for sustainability.

šŸ‚My idea of a ā€œbig lifeā€ has changed so much over the years- from getting an education, to building a practice, to pivoting to owning a small business, then to motherhood. I have always wanted to have it all- but I noticed the harder I tried to have it all- the worse I felt about my performance in every aspect. Stepping away from a career I worked so hard for was scary, but I havenā€™t regretted a single day spending more time with my children. I know that this is where Iā€™m supposed to be. Watching how things have changed and shifted since I left practice has been pivotal in discovering what I truly want. I love that youā€™re here and I want to share little moments of my BIG life with you all here in my cozy corner of the internet.

šŸ‚A beautiful fall day calls for a roadtrip up to Amish country to find some beautiful mums & pumpkins. We love this tradition and seeing the slower pace of life. Not to mention the prices are top tier compared to any other pumpkin patch!
The bulk spices and ingredients are always so fun to explore- you never know what youā€™ll find!
Such a fun morning spent stepping away. What is your favorite fall tradition?

Everyone told me not to wash this vintage quilt, but I did it anyway. šŸ˜¬šŸ‘‡
When I brought this beautiful piece of history home, it had decades of mystery stains, a ton of dust, and that classic ā€œold atticā€ smell.
The internet told me: ā€œDonā€™t touch it.ā€ ā€œYouā€™ll ruin the stitching.ā€ ā€œNever submerge a vintage quilt!ā€
But I knew it couldnā€™t stay the way it was if it was ever going to be used and loved again. Vintage textiles are delicate, but with the right formula, temperature, and a lot of patience, you can bring them back to life without destroying the hand-stitching.
The water at the end was absolutely shocking. šŸ¤¢ Clear proof that it needed a deep rescue!

šŸ‚October means all things Pumpkin- these deliciously pumpkin spiced oatmeal cream pies are to die for.

Mix together in large bowl & set aside:
2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
1 2/3 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

In stand mixer cream together:
1 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar

To creamed butter/sugar mixture add:
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Mix until combined and add:
1 cup blotted pumpkin puree
Add dry ingredients and mix until well combined
Bake cookies at 350 for 14-16 min until golden brown

For filling mix together all ingredients until smooth:
8oz softened cream cheese
1/5 cup softened butter
1 & 3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Pipe or spread filling on bottom of one fully cooled cookie and sandwich additional cookie on top.

These are delicious with a hot cup of coffee on a rainy fall day!
