The best part of building amplifiers is seeing them become part of a band’s story.

Detroit’s The Strains are currently on the road with two Super Fifty-Nine M-80 heads and cabinets alongside a Super Fifty-Nine M-80 combo. These amps weren’t built to sit in a showroom. They were built to be loaded into vans, hauled onto stages, and played night after night. We’re proud to see The Strains putting them to work across the country and making them part of their sound.

A look inside the chassis of the new Point-to-Point Collection with Lee Anderton and Granville Helm. Before printed circuit boards, this was the standard—building amplifiers completely by hand, component by component. The Varsity Reverb delivers 15 watts of Class A power, built with era-specific wiring methods and finished in Cathedral Black or Cathedral Burgundy coverings. Only 20 of these hand-wired models were shipped overseas, and the crew at managed to secure a few.
