Now that I am staying home, I am hoping to turn my passion into a way to help support my family. I have made everything from t-shirt quilts to my family room curtains. Here is a brief history of how I got started...
I grew up with a mom who sewed. She made curtains, Halloween costumes, and everything in-between. I grew up around her reading patterns and pinning fabric, but didn't do anything on m
y own until after college. My first "solo" project was a t-shirt quilt using shirts from high school, made curing Christmas break in 2005. This was a huge undertaking for someone who barely knew how to thread a machine, but I've come a long way. After buying our house in 2006, I made curtains, pillows, and recovered a chair. In 2011, we found out we were expecting a little boy, and I spent the summer making the bedding and curtains for his nursery. I spent my first months at home with him making blankets and burp clothes, and most recently a "teething" bumper for his crib. I enjoy sewing for my family, but I love creating custom creations for others.
