What a week 🤠
We flew into New Haven, stayed with family in Clinton, and made the drive up to Portland for the weekend. We make it up to Connecticut pretty often, but this trip was extra special because we got to take Jess and Rob to their very first Billy Strings shows. Safe to say…they’re fans for life now. We loved getting to share the adventure with them, and we’re grateful for them being such incredible hosts while we were up there.
Friday was spent roadtripping and then wandering East Bayside and the Old Port, eating way too many lobster rolls, finding great breweries, and soaking up all the Maine vibes.
Saturday was all about our little Hide & Seek. We hid LLJ shirts everywhere from East Bayside to the Old Port…even managed to leave one by Billy’s tour bus. One of the coolest surprises was running into Jarrod Walker at Portland Head Light and getting to snap a photo for him and his family.
The Portland show was incredible. That Hide and Seek with the Beatles’ And Your Bird Can Sing worked in was one of those moments you don’t forget. Maybe the coolest part of the whole trip, though, was seeing people wearing Lava Lamp Jukebox shirts at a Billy show over 2,000 miles from home. That’s a pretty surreal feeling and just so damn cool.
Back in Connecticut we slowed things down with big sandwiches (sangweech), a trip to Chester, pizza, beers, and then another heater of a Billy show in Hartford. Steam Powered Aeroplane has been on repeat ever since, and hearing Jarrod, Royal, and Billy Failing each take a turn singing made that night even more special. TANGLED UP IN BLUE 🔥
We wrapped it all up by flying home and grabbing Ochoa’s Mexican food before heading back to the pups. Already talking about the next trip.
Thank you New England ✌️
