🍦🍦🍦 Who knew you could grow ice cream beans in San Diego County? This delicious tree is native to Central and South America but has found its way up to North County. The texture around the seeds is edible and tastes sweet like cotton candy (but with more pulp). We have a tree about 5 feet tall in our backyard that we grew from seed a couple years ago. They grow fast and furious! Known as a “soil superhero”, ice cream bean trees are nitrogen-fixers and an awesome addition to any food forest 🌳

I have a very old, very loved shirt that we got 12 years ago at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam that's part of the type inspiration for this shirt. I just can't seem to get rid of it, year after year. May Gray shirts are meant to be like that – timeless, authentic, with designs that aren't generic or formulaic. Every shirt is designed and made with intention.

Moonlight Beach in Encinitas is a crowd favorite, and our boxy-fit tee with 90's inspired graphic is the perfect combination of vintage made new. Model is wearing size Medium for a looser fit.

😂 These photos are notorious in my family. This is me at 7 years old trying my darnedest to make a buck at the end of a quiet California cul-de-sac.

Recently, some things have been harder than others with starting a business - especially being a full-time mom to 4 young kids - but I treasure these memories. When things get hard, or it feels like I don’t have enough time to put towards May Gray, or I’m just tired of waking up early and going to bed late, I think of this little girl and laugh in spite of myself.

Jokes on me though - wish I had kept more of those Pokémon cards in mint condition!

I was walking by Warm Waters beach in Carlsbad a couple months ago (pre-launch) and my 2 year old was wearing this Vista Fruit shirt. A random surfer saw him and said "that's the coolest little shirt!" It felt so good after months of prep for a stranger to support our local designs. Whoever you are, thanks! 🫶 🌊 (Model is wearing size 4T and is 5 yrs old)
