These beautiful Batiks will be arriving today at Fantabulous Backs from Riley Blake. I had so many potential sales for batiks that I missed out on at Road To California that as soon as the show was over, I was ordering, you guessed it, batiks! These fabrics are from the collection “Expressions”. I also have invoices out for another 20 bolts of new fabrics that I have not carried before along with fabrics that were out of stock.

Another fabric that we will be carrying, Minky! We don’t have them in yet, they should arrive in a few months. We figured out a way to display them in the booth without having more space than what we usually have (10x20). We had so many requests at Road that I had to give it a second look!

I just finished this and I am so pleased with how it turned out. My client has had this in her UFO’s for a long time and does not remember the pattern. For the first time, I used Judi Madsen’s curved ruler and was so surprised at how much I enjoyed it and was able to switch from left to right hand while the ruler stayed stable. I did attach true grips and it really helped with keeping it from slipping. All was free motion quilting. I used bamboo batting from Winline Textile Products and Omni “light tan” thread

This quilt is beautiful! Peggy Watkins did an amazing job of matching up the colors. Pattern is Barn Star Sampler by Shelley Cavanna. The backing is through Northcott by Linda Ludovico called Stonehenge. I did free motion quilting edge to edge.

Quilt finished! Michelle bought from Etsy, the EMT fabric….Crafty Twins Fabric. I used Warm and White Batting and the best, the backing was purchased from fantabulousbacks.com peppered cotton! I did echo swirls all over in red thread. I don’t have much of Peppered cotton but ohhhhh, so much of other beautiful fabrics at fantabulousbacks.com

Another quilt finished! This pattern by Sandy Gervais, is from her collection “Pieces From My Heart” and is called “Endless Love” for Riley Blake. I did free motion hearts and swirls in a bright white thread color by Omni Threads. Warm and white batting by “The Warm Co” was used.

Always double check your thread before you piece a quilt top! My client thought she was almost done with the piecing until she went to iron the top. Let’s just say, don’t keep the vanishing thread together with other threads😂😂. Bev can laugh about it now but probably cried when it all fell apart. I did a tight, free motion echo swirls all over with warm and white batting. The thread color, light tan by Omni threads was used.

Fantastic Christmas quilt and fantastically pieced by Tina Abernathy. The pattern, Jolly Holiday by Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique. Tina used everything from Moda, Lella Boutique Collection; Christmas Eve, Berry and Pine and Magic Dot. Quilters Dream Cotton Select was her batting of choice. I did “free motion echo swirls” (her favorite) all over in a gray thread color by Omni Threads.
