Gone With The Wind Lamps

History and characteristics
Origin: The style emerged during the late Victorian era, between approximately 1890 and 1910.
Original purpose: They were designed for both practicality and decoration, adorning the parlors of affluent homes. Originally, the lower globe held the kerosene fuel reservoir.
The name: The name "Gone With the Wind lamp" became popular in the mid-20th century, after the 1939 movie of the same name made the Victorian style iconic. Some sources suggest the name was applied because the lamps were used in the film, while others say this is a myth, though the movie certainly helped popularize them.
Dual-globe design: A signature feature is the double-globe construction: a larger upper glass shade and a smaller lower one, both often decorated.
Ornate details: They are known for their elaborate details, such as hand-painted floral or scenic motifs, frosted or colored glass, and ornate metal fittings like brass scrollwork.
Modern adaptation: Many original kerosene lamps were later converted to use electricity.
Modern status
Collectibles: Today, both original kerosene versions and electric reproductions are popular collector's items.
Decorative use: They are still used as decorative pieces, often in homes with a rustic, country, or vintage-inspired aesthetic.
Value: The value of these lamps depends on factors like the quality of the glass, the intricacy of the design, and whether the parts are originall
