Big buckle day 7:55 at Leadville 100 MTB!

Steady pedals, lessons from last year to draw from, and a new course to tackle after the Willow fires just weeks ago.

Bike check-running whatever was on the bike for the LRT trail in MN cause we roll what we own 😆. We know it’s the “don’t quit” mentality that makes the difference not +/- 2 more teeth on the ring.

This race marks one year from when the Life Time Grand Prix went from a first time experience at this race to becoming part of our whole family’s life chasing Travis on his bike and Ben Anderson chasing Alexey Vermeulen Avery Stumm and ENVE MOG Squad with his camera.

We were caught up in the From the Ground Up IRL moments with a special@shout out to Caleb DeRoin coming back this year to earn a buckle after a heartbreaking cutoff last season. You inspire us!

A privilege to be here together as a family chasing all our dreams in our own ways. Congrats Travis on a banger day. 🏆.

It became clear on our way to Leadville that Ben Anderson felt that he was missing out by having never seen Wall Drug. (He did as a small child but clearly no memories). After being enticed by the classic trail of billboards over hundreds of miles, he was delighted by my offer to stop and add this iconic experience to his travel repertoire. I knew what was coming, and was internally giggling as soon as he pulled in. Consider this box checked.

GapSauce made the trip to Lake Como, Italy with Travis Sweinside! Since he celebrated his 25th anniversary last year eating pretzel bites in Pierre, SD in his way to finishing the Leadville 100 race he owed his bride a rain check on a romantic trip this year 😆. Congrats Travis on the grit and the ❤️❤️.

Untapped Coffee + Maple syrup is already packed in the can for Leadville Race Series. Our go to fuel with some extra kick for whatever the race holds this time. Since we don’t actually know the course yet-we better have a little boost in the back pocket! Pick some up for the no bonking arsenal!

Problem solving on the road to ! First trip with the e-bike mounted on the wall rack in the new van. Welp, 4 hours in we noticed a little extra bounce back there and realized the nails had pulled loose. A quick dismount for the bikes that thankfully slotted into new temporary homes and we were on the road in ten minutes knowing we could work around them for the weekend. However since I literally have time on my hands waiting for Ben while he films, I took the rainy morning to purchase what feels like our tenth set of Milwaukee drivers (this one will now live in the van) and patched together what I could with some FaceTime consultations with Travis so I didn’t send the wood screws into the wiring. 🏆 after discovering we needed a socket set as well to take off the rack, I settled for a “good enough” temp fix vs buying more tools. After shoving some extra crap underneath the tire to reduce the drag, I think we are back in business and appreciating the extra real estate.
