Operation Prom Dress, Mcdaniel College We are collecting formal dresses for girls in McDowell County, where poverty rates exceed 33%. Bring We are collecting donations of prom dresses and accessories.

Because poverty rates in McDowell County, WV exceed 33%, many high school girls in the county cannot afford prom dresses. When you go home for Spring Break, before to check your closet and ask friends and families if they have dresses to donate. Your gently used formal dresses and accessories could give another girl a chance to feel beautiful. Please donate your dresses by bringing them to the Eng

lish Dept., second floor, Hill Hall. When you donate your dress, please leave your name and a short description of the donated dress on the sign-up sheet, and we'll post your name on this page. Donations accepted through Friday, March 29. QUESTIONS? Contact Julia Jasken, [email protected]

Total: 81 Dresses, 9 Pairs of Shoes, 1 Handbag, 1 Headband

Once again, Thank You so much to everyone who donated or helped out with our drive this year. All 81 dresses and the accessories will be picked up tomorrow.

The girls in Appalachia who will be receiving the dresses will have a selection of options including glittery, silky, colorful, reserved, exciting, long, flawy, short, flirty, elegant, bright, and beautiful.

Thanks Ro-z Edelston for donating a strapless, chiffon, floor length dress of multiple colors and patterns, and beads and sequins. We'll be looking for it while we're packing the dresses this upcoming week. If possible, we'll post a photo!

Amber Slater donated 2 dresses. The first one is short and has gold and silver sequins across the bodice. The second is a long purple one with flowers. Thanks Amber for the beautiful dresses!

Thank you Alexa Riland for donating 3 dresses! One was black and white with rhinestones, the second was black and shimmery, and the third was black and covered in glittering silver swirls. One or two of your dresses may have ended up in our photos.
