✨✨✨ANNOUNCEMENT✨✨✨This month marks 4 years with an irl storefront and my 8th year selling vintage online full time. This will also be my last month with a storefront. part of me just wanted to be like “hey :) I just don’t want to do this anymore byeee!” (past me definitely would’ve done that lol) But I owe y’all a lil more than that. First I wanna say that I love and appreciate my regular customers & anyone else who’s ever stopped by the shop, whether you purchased something or not. I will still do popups / markets in the area if they seem worth it. (If you have any info plz message!! Do things like that even exist around here? lol) i will still be available for shopping and buying appointments!! Like seriously PLZ keep selling me your vintage! That has actually been my favorite part of this whole experience.
I have been considering this for awhile. Foot traffic / supportive community for vintage clothing in downtown hutch isn’t the greatest and honestly I’m just over it. (I may elaborate a bit more on this in the future...I have more to say about this!) I’m looking forward to going back to online only, focusing on and whatever else is next :) Not a lot of my followers know much about my shop before I moved back to Hutch, as I didn’t have an Instagram page until I opened the storefront. So here is a very brief history: I officially started the shop in Wichita, because I was broke & had just left a really sh*tty job & relationship & was trying to figure out what to do next. I started off by just selling the vintage that I had collected throughout High school and college. 5 months later I moved to Chicago stayed there for 3yrs. We ( & I) traveled south w/ the shop in an RV one winter, which was amazing and I’m so mad at myself for not having an Instagram page for shop during that time period!!! Fast forward to 2016- My good friend Kitty (she’s an event planner & really great at what she does!! hit her up for your weddings & parties!!) offered to sublease the shop space when we suddenly had to move back to Kansas from Chicago due to an apartment fire. I had never felt like that was something I wanted or could even do, but I said yes! It really made me feel better about the situation we found ourselves in & gave me something new to focus on. Both of our businesses have grown so much over the past 4 years, we’ve really outgrown sharing that space together!
I truly am so grateful for 4 South Main and all that I have learned. It’s bittersweet that it’s coming to an end. I’m thankful to have met a lot of amazing people & to have been here for some tough times with my family. This has been a great experience but I’ve really felt an energy shift within myself & I feel like it’s time to start moving in a different direction. All of that being said, the shop will be open throughout the month, open late for one final third Thursday and perhaps another big sale after that.
On top of building my new studio / office space has been hard at work building me a space for my inventory & I’m pretty excited to start using it!
So yea. That’s that on that. This might be all over the place & I’m sorry about that. I wrote and rewrote this several times and finally I just had to post something.
