White Romney full year's growth, raised locally in idyllic surroundings by a community similar to an Amish one. They vary from beautiful curly ringlets like Wensleydale to crimped like a French fry. Long staple, up to 6-7" or so. Really some of the loveliest Romney I have ever seen. Please note: there aren’t second cuts, but the sheep were not coated, and this is only lightly skirted, so there are muddy bits at some edges. This fleece will wash up BEAUTIFULLY! Selling whole fleeces only. Buyer to pay actual shipping (or pick up in Woodstock, NY), payment will be by PayPal invoice (message me with your zip code and email address to commit to purchase), and fleeces will be sold to first commitment, not first inquiry. RAW WOOL AND ALPACA FLEECES FOR SALE!
As a fiber artist, processing raw wool and spinning it into yarn have long been my favorite parts! I searched the earth for beautiful raw fleeces because I had the honor of volunteering my time and knowledge at a fiber house where we processed and spun wool, as well as other enriching activities. The fiber house is now closed, and these fleeces need new homes. These are handspinner’s fleeces. This is all unwashed raw fleece. I have both sheep wool and alpaca fiber. We had a scheduling snafu (an annual craft show that we do switched their dates and we didn’t notice), and we found ourselves with an unplanned free weekend. Today’s jewelry group was filled to the brim. Adele did wire work by herself today, and everyone made lots of things with my assistance!

The top section is great for combing, or flicking to spin a worsted yarn, and the bottom section is great for carding and spinning into a woolen yarn. This will dictate how it’s scoured.
