This Saturday, The 2nd Annual Su***de Awareness Event brought life changing education, support, and encouragement to individuals who were su***de attempt survivors, family and friends of those who have committed su***de,anyone who has had thoughts of su***de along with those who just wanted to be informed.
I have been awarded the opportunity to host this event annually in The City of Zachary and I must say it’s a overwhelming yet wonderful feeling to make a positive impact in lives.
Special thank you to the City of Zachary ( Sharon Phillips)and Zachary Farmers and Artisans Market ( Nita Edwards) for supporting my vision and providing me with the event location along with other resources to host this event. Thank you to Zachary Police Department and Zachary Fire Department for your service throughout the event. Thank you to Zachary High School Volunteers for providing hands on assistance where need.
Special thank you to our speakers for taking time out of their schedules to support the cause after hearing about the event: SBA Regional Administrator Edward Ted James, Paula Davis, State Representative District 69, First Responder Lead/C-CISM Stress Manager Danny Adams, NAMI Advocacy and State Program Director Mary Cash, AFSP Louisiana and Mississippi Program Manager Clara Carruth, and our Survivor “Candice”.
