⏳ A Dog’s Time Is Short. Let’s Not Let Them Spend it in a Shelter. 🐾
A dog usually gets about 13 to 15 years on this earth.
For many of our beloved Crucian Confusions , too many of those years are spent chained in a yard, living life as “just a yard dog.”
And then, sometimes, they end up in a shelter.
No matter where a dog comes from, no dog should spend their days waiting behind kennel doors. Their time here is too short. And the love they bring into our lives is something we never get to enjoy long enough.
Anyone who has ever lost their soul dog knows exactly what that feels like. That quiet space they leave behind. That unconditional love you would give anything to have back for just one more day.
Right now, we have some long term residents looking for homes . We have young dogs too.
And the truth is… none of them deserve to grow older in a shelter.
Because every dog deserves:
✔️ A soft place to sleep
✔️ A person to call their own
✔️ A life filled with love, not waiting
Below are our two longest residents Joy and Zambia strutting their stuff at the Pet Parade. If your heart and home has room… come meet your newest family member at the St Croix Animal Welfare Center Pet Place, these 2 girls dream of their own yards and humans who give them lots of kisses.
Pet Place hours are Tuesday through Saturday 9am-4pm.
