He cared for abandoned kittens, treated sick stray dogs, and rescued baby otters meant for the pet trade. But whenever he posted online to raise support, he faced poachers who slashed through the brush, hunting down the very animals he saved. He knew all too well that these wildlife poachers were the locals living right alongside the animals—people continuously destroying nature and hunting its wildlife. They even invaded his social media accounts to attack his volunteer conservation work.
