A bit late with this update and I’m sure I’ve reached out to every client personally but over the last few months I’ve been winding down my freelance business and my small batch production business is no more. I have been working for Kalopsia Collective for a few months now which has been a career goal of mine for years! I’m very happy to have joined their team. So for now I will no longer be offering batch manufacturing services. I’d like to thank all my clients and everyone who has supported me and my business! It’s much appreciated and helped me achieve a big goal of mine. I’ll still continue to share any makes or updates as I won’t be stopping sewing! 🧵 🪡 💫

Finishing off some bespoke orders today. A client came to me with a pattern and a few ideas on tweaking it to make it her own.

I’ve been quiet on the ole insta but I’m still working away. I have some space for production and sampling in the next month so if you need support please get in touch and we can work together 💫

I had a lovely meeting with a client today for some bespoke commissions. It’s not something I usually do but I did enjoy chatting about one off designs, different styles/fabrics etc. It’s nice to get creative! If you can’t find the exact outfit you’d like in the shop why not design your own. Get in touch and I can help create your ideal outfit from scratch 💫

Re introduction. Since it’s been a bit sporadic on here I thought I’d reintroduce myself. There will be no selfies as sleep deprived mum face is not so cute 😴👶🏻🙈

I’m Coleen, a freelance seamstress working from my home studio just outside Edinburgh. I graduated from in 2014, that feels like another lifetime! I set up my production business a couple of years ago when I realised independent businesses needed support with production on a smaller and more sustainable scale.

I love making things and I love being a small part in each of my clients businesses, the creativity in Scotland is amazing! I provide cut and sew manufacturing; garments; kids and adults, and soft furnishings. I require no minimum order quantity and can work on a made to order basis. I’m very flexible with my ways of working as I understand each business runs differently.

Happy Friday! One of my goals this year for my business was to get my fabric recycling under control! I always give back large fabric scraps to my clients so that they can be used for something else but there are some wee bits that you just can’t make use of and I never know what to do with them (they are in bags all over my studio) But I’ve finally found somewhere! Thanks for helping me find who will recycle fabric scraps responsibly ♻️ 🪡🧵

So my return from maternity leave was not as smooth as planned. The struggle is real. A big thank you to all my clients for being so understanding and flexible whilst I figure things out.

I am fully booked for December but I am free for orders in January so get in touch with any production support you made need.

*whispers* I’m back…

Little bit scary to announce but I’m sort of back. Having a baby is tough, who knew 😜 I am back taking orders for small batch production runs however spaces are very very limited as I navigate working and taking care of a baby. Production times will be longer so if you’re planning any Christmas products get in touch now. I haven’t figured everything out yet so I’m erring on the side of caution and reduction the workload as I would never compromise quality over speed.

Each client is different and production time really depends on quantity and the complexity of a garment. I always recommend an initial sample as it gives you a chance to check the quality of my work and me a chance to figure out if I’m best suited for the job. So please take in to consideration sampling time when getting in touch. Send me over an email with any questions or I’d be happy to take a call to chat more. Excited but nervous to be back 🧵 🪡

One last note: I will no longer be offering alterations as a service. 💫

Just a wee update. I’m currently still on maternity leave and enjoying every minute 🥰 I’m still available to discuss any production work you might need support with so please get in touch and we can chat. When I return in September I will be working at reduced capacity but we can discuss timing to make things work for everyone!
