There’s been a great response to the full TNG jumpsuit walkthrough I put together a while back, so I made another one – this time for the TMP “Class D” and TWOK-era enlisted jumpsuits.

It’s a terrific supplement to the free sewing tutorials I posted on my blog; I actually filmed the process of making several uniforms! And every step of the way, I explain exactly what to do.

My custom-dyed ST5 “commando” blue cotton twill fabric was matched directly to the screen-used ST5 uniform pictured.

Like the wools, the officer set includes one 6” x 19” rectangle for the shoulder strap, one 3 ½” x 18” rectangle for the sleeve band, and two 1 ¼” x 48” strips for the trousers stripes.

Enlisted set includes one 3 ½” x 18” rectangle for the sleeve band, and one 6” x 4 ½” rectangle for the shoulder tabs.

TWOK special services blue cotton

My custom-dyed “special services” blue cotton twill fabric was matched directly to the screen-used sleeve band pictured.

Like the wools, the officer set includes one 6” x 19” rectangle for the shoulder strap, one 3 ½” x 18” rectangle for the sleeve band, and two 1 ¼” x 48” strips for the trousers stripes.

Enlisted set includes one 3 ½” x 18” rectangle for the sleeve band, and one 6” x 4 ½” rectangle for the shoulder tabs.

(In addition to the standard officer and enlisted uniforms, this color was also worn by the ST6 waiters.)

My custom-dyed security green cotton twill was matched directly to the sleeve band on a screen-used enlisted jumpsuit (the same one I used as a base for my movie-era jumpsuit patterns).

TWOK trainee red cotton

My custom-dyed trainee red cotton twill was matched directly to the screen-used shoulder strap pictured.

This color was worn by cadets, trainees, and Academy instructors.

Like the wools, the officer set includes one 6” x 19” rectangle for the shoulder strap and one 3 ½” x 18” rectangle for the sleeve band. (Note that trousers stripes are NOT included, since cadets wore division-colored stripes on their trousers.)

Enlisted only includes one 3 ½” x 18” rectangle for the sleeve band. (Again note that the shoulder tabs are NOT included, since enlisted trainees wore division-colored shoulder tabs.)

TWOK sciences gray cotton

My custom-dyed sciences gray cotton twill fabric was matched directly to the screen-used sleeve band pictured.

As I recently mentioned in my wool post, the sciences gray color changed some over the movies, but this particular piece was an absolutely neutral gray (not bluish at all).

TWOK command cream cotton

So far there’s been a lot of interest in my TWOK-era wool division colors, which is awesome! Thank you! :)

However, I would like to point out that my custom-dyed cotton twill fabric colors are just as good, and less than half the price of the wool.

Pictured is my custom-dyed command cream cotton twill with my screen-used shoulder strap.

I *may* have put an irrational amount of effort into matching the original cream color, but I have no regrets. :D

Like with the wools, the officer set includes one 6” x 19” rectangle for the shoulder strap, one 3 ½” x 18” rectangle for the sleeve band, and two 2” x 48” maroon strips for the trousers stripes. (These wider stripes give you the option to make the wider flag officer stripes or the standard ones.)

Enlisted set includes one 3 ½” x 18” rectangle for the sleeve band, and one 6” x 4 ½” rectangle for the shoulder tabs.
