Ditty Dots: I wanted it to be more than a music class 💕
🧡 I had my first child during the height of the pandemic & we were pretty much in lockdown for the best part of the first year... No baby classes, no new mum friends, minimal socializing (2m apart and just one walk a day else might end up in prison - seems crazy now!)
👯 Of course, all the pandemic babies missed out on things but I think the mums did too a little bit. I know how valuable support is during those early times; I was so incredibly lucky to have my husband and my Mum but some people didn't have that.
🎵 When setting up Ditty Dots, as important as the content of the classes, was the priority of choosing the right venues. I wanted venues that allowed people to socialize before/ after class. I wanted to provide opportunity for friendships and support networks to gradually and naturally build.
⚡ The vibe in class is really relaxed, welcoming, friendly, non-judgemental, but to now see parents and children who didn't know each other before, playing together - well, it might have brought a tear to my eye 🤣 (I was setting up the room, looked out the window, saw this, grabbed my camera and ran!)
The venue in Towcester is on market square - surrounded by great brunch and coffee spots ( , , ). We also have a private garden for use in the warmer months.
The venue in town is on a BIG playing field with a great playground and facilities. There's also a few pubs nearby 🙌
I wanted Ditty Dots to be more than a music class, and this beautiful moment earlier shows that it is becoming that 🧡
