Bonjour ! Ça faisait un moment, mais on revient pour nos amis à Paris 🇫🇷
On vient tout juste de confirmer les dates de notre 2ème trunk show chez :

Du 10 au 15 septembre (du mercredi au lundi),
histoire de laisser à tout le monde le temps de rentrer des vacances d’été.

Le 3ème trunk show est prévu pour fin novembre (on est littéralement en train de réserver les billets là maintenant 😄).

Bonjour ! It’s been a while, but we’re heading back for our friends in Paris 🇫🇷 
We’ve just locked in the dates for our 2nd trunk show in Lafayette Saltiel Drapiers : September 10th to 15th (Wednesday to Monday) 
Giving everyone time to get back from their summer holidays.

The 3rd trunk show will be at the end of November (hmmm we’re literally booking the tickets now).

It was early June when the call came in.

“We need a suit for the cover of City Magazine. Wing Shya will be behind the lens. The art direction is Inspired by In the Mood for Love. You’ve got one week. Are you in?”

I was halfway through a bowl of ramen when I got the call. The chopsticks paused mid-air, a slice of char siu dangling.

“Well then,” I said, standing up. “Think we need to hunt down some vintage cloth first.”

The brief was clear, to create a suit that whispered of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, with clear visual references to the iconic styling of Chow Mo-wan and Su Li-zhen in Wong Kar-wai’s masterpiece. The result was a quiet nod to the past, modernised for the present.

We opted for a 3SB single breasted cut with a lowered and angled notch lapel and is moderately wide, the shoulder were padded and extended to echo the era’s silhouette, with a contemporary restraint that avoided the brashness of ‘90s power suits. The button stance was lifted ever so slightly, elongating the torso in a way that felt relevant to today’s more refined sensibilities.

For the chest pocket, we still believed in the barchetta curve, historically inaccurate, perhaps, but aesthetically right. The sweep of the pocket lent a natural rhythm to the jacket’s lines, like a pause in a well-composed sentence.

We unearthed a gem in Hong Kong’s one of the iconic vintage fabric market: a Dormeuil vintage two-tone wool. 

When the shopkeeper found out it was for a magazine cover, he grinned. “Then you get 20% off,” he said with a gentle smile.
