One thing we’ve noticed over the years is that the jackets people wear the most usually aren’t the flashy ones. They’re the easy ones.
The ones you wear without thinking because the pockets are useful, the fit feels right, and they seem to work with most things already in your wardrobe.
A lot of modern outerwear feels overcomplicated now.
Sometimes you just want a jacket that feels reliable and comfortable to wear.

Our peacoat has a reassuring amount of weight to it.
Heavy wool outer. Quilted lining. Big collar. Proper winter coat.
The sort of thing that feels substantial the second you pick it up.
It’s also easier to wear than a lot of traditional peacoats. Not too slim or stiff, so you can comfortably layer knitwear underneath while still keeping that clean, structured shape.
Real horn buttons, thick wool, deep pockets, and no unnecessary extras. Just a very well-made version of a classic coat.
Works just as well with jeans and trainers as it does with smarter outfits.
One of those jackets that makes cold weather slightly more appealing.

Nick has uploaded a new walkthrough video on the Spring/Summer 2027 range. He talks through the fabrics, colours, fit, details, and new launches for the season.
At least that was the plan.
There are a few moments where he gets distracted by a particularly nice jacket, completely forgets the point he was making, and disappears off on a tangent about something entirely unrelated. Fairly standard.
But useful if you like getting a closer look and seeing the jackets in motion.

The Merino Woodland uses 100% brushed cotton micro-dogtooth lining inside the cuffs and body. Soft against the skin, warm without feeling thick or heavy, and a nice bit of texture hidden away. A small detail, but one we're very fond of.

The Original Utility Field Jacket was the first jacket we ever made.
At the time, we thought it was finished. It turns out we were just getting started.
Over the years, we've refined significant parts of it. Not because the original was bad by any means, but because wearing a jacket for years teaches you a few things.
We switched to dry waxed cotton fabric, which is breathable, easier to wear, and more convenient in everyday life.
Then we changed the pockets. The originals worked perfectly well, but the current ones are larger, warmer, better positioned, and manage to carry more without adding extra bulk.
The fit evolved too. The early design was more tailored, designed with cycling and movement in mind. The newer version is easier to layer underneath, which makes it more versatile throughout the colder months.
We also introduced our FRAHM red and blue tartan lining, added a little more weight to the jacket, and eventually developed a quilted winter version, because so many people wanted to wear it year-round.
It still looks unmistakably like the Original Utility Field Jacket, just a newer and upgraded version.

A lot of denim jackets look great hanging up.
Then you actually wear them and realise they're stiff, restrictive, heavy, or oddly difficult to layer.
We tried hard not to make ours like that.
The denim has enough structure to feel robust, but it's soft and settles in quickly.
It's comfortable to wear, easy to throw over things, and works in most situations.
This is Alex in his. We did eventually have to ask for it back. Reluctantly.

🕺 Clubbing! Circa 1993. So many shiny pastel shirts. So little body fat or facial hair. It seems to be growing out of the top of our heads instead. Intriguing. These are my friends from school in Notts. I think we were going to a club in Sheffield. Left to right: Jason - Brazilian Jui Jitsu professor, business director at FRAHM and co-owner with me. Lives in UK & Italy. Chris - my bestie as a small me. PhD physicist in Australia who could national standard 100m sprint and marathon. Madness. Steve - then a pirate dj and it was his club, where he was resident, we were going to. Now a corporate lawyer in Oz. Me - was doing sports science & physiology at the time. Sacked that off and apart from the ergonomics and critical thinking, do something rather different you may be aware of. BUT WE ALWAYS LOVED DRESSING UP! Nick. P.S. when do I get to live abroad???

Most of the things customers value about FRAHM happen because we keep production fairly controlled.
Small runs. Better fabrics. More attention to detail. Proper customer service.
We'd rather make fewer jackets well than overproduce and dilute what made people like FRAHM in the first place.

A very simple guide to the 5 Autumn jackets arriving in the next couple of months:

Quilted Harrington Racer - the easy all-rounder.
Clean, simple, easy to wear. Light waxed cotton outer, corduroy details, plenty of pockets and warm enough to be worn for most of the year.

Waxed Quilted Field - the colder weather jacket.
Big pockets, high neck, Primaloft insulation, slightly more rugged feel. Equally at home in the countryside or the city.

Waxed Classic Field - probably the most versatile.
Lighter than the quilted version, lined with brushed cotton tartan and easy to layer. Good through Autumn and useful all Winter as a shell.

Merino Woodland Workers - the comfort option.
Same design as the Waxed Woodland, but made from pure merino wool with cotton dogtooth lining. Smart, soft, breathable, and incredibly easy to wear.

Waxed Woodland Workers - the tough one.
Heavy waxed cotton twill, horn buttons, tartan lining, and built to take a beating without looking overly outdoorsy.

Waxed cotton isn't waterproof in the same way a synthetic shell jacket is waterproof. It works differently.
The wax sits within the fabric itself, helping rain bead and run off whilst still allowing the jacket to breathe naturally.
Our waxed jackets are water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. They'll handle showers and bad weather very well, but eventually, prolonged rain will get through.
That's partly the point. A good waxed jacket is far softer, quieter, and more comfortable to wear day-to-day than most waterproof jackets.
