Our Desert Tundra shade has been seeing lots of love lately. It’s a hidden gem of a “natural” in that it appears soft grey-beige from a distance, but up close reveals flecks of teal, orange, yellow twisted into its haloed plies.

If you subscribe to our email, check your inbox for details about a new cabled pullover, Teide by , which also includes a pattern discount for our readers. Denise’s cozy sample was knit in Desert Tundra. We also loved seeing .thestitches recently-finished Finest Kind pullover from in this shade.

If you haven’t signed up for our e-letter yet, head to our website and join the list - we send very occasionally, focusing on quality over quantity, sharing news we think you might be interested in, from recent pattern releases and designer highlights to new yarn developments and upcoming events. We like to think our yarn speaks for itself, thanks to the wonderful Navajo Rambouillet, domestic wool, and mohair fibers they are made from, and the heathered color blends like Desert Tundra that make Peace Fleece unique.

We’re pleased to announce that all colors of Peace Fleece Worsted are now back in stock 🪴🐑

In our latest e-letter, we shared a Q&A with designer Tina Tse .say.makes to chat about her new knitting pattern in Peace Fleece Worsted, A Place In Time Cardigan. If you missed it, you can read the full Q&A on our blog - head to our profile linktree for a direct link (don’t forget to sign up for future e-letters while you’re there).

We love this sweater for its wonderful, patchwork-like textures and use of color 🎨 Worked in six shades of Worsted, it’s a great project to experiment with different color combinations and how they interact with the garter and slip stitch patterns.

Here are just a few different color combinations we swatched up, along with Tina’s original palette.

1) Swatching in Wild Mustard + Negotiation Grey, and Desert Tundra + Wooly Bear.

2) .say.makes modeling her original cardigan (📸: )

3) Tina’s colors (from front to back): Palomino, Georgia Rose, Sakhalin Salmon, Mourning Dove, Latvian Lavender, and Sheplova Mushroom

4) Finished swatches in Desert Tundra + Wooly Bear, Wild Mustard + Negotiation Grey, and Zarya Fog + Kalinka Malinka Blue.

5) Our final palette for this beautiful sweater: Sheplova Mushroom, Palomino, Chestnut, Glasnost Gold, Mourning Dove, and Brownie

Pattern: A Place In Time Cardigan
Designer: Tina Tse .say.makes
Yarn: Peace Fleece Worsted

The pattern is available to purchase from the designer’s website, tinatseknits.com.

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day from all of us at Peace Fleece 🌿

We’ve been busy behind the scenes these past few months, and we’re almost ready to reveal what we’ve been up to—keep an eye out for our announcement this Thursday!

In other news, we’ll be headed to Rhinebeck, NY, this weekend for New York Sheep and Wool Festival where we’ll be back in ’s booth in Building A. Come see our Peace Fleece colors and get to know our yarns up close and in person. This year, we’re also offering a canvas market tote with artwork designed by .stone.tattoo, inspired by the iconic Blue Bird flour bags. For those not attending the festival but are interested in purchasing one of our totes, we’ll have them available in our online store after the weekend.

We’ll leave you with some fairly obvious hints of what’s just over the horizon — any guesses?

We’re overjoyed to share a new pattern released this week: the Rancher’s Cowl, designed by Tressa Weidenaar ( ), available in the September issue from . Tressa’s design is worked in three shades of Peace Fleece Worsted to create a warm and vibrant knit. The colorwork motifs reflect elements of Navajo weaving and carry a remembrance of home—the land and the people the designer comes from. We are huge fans of Tressa’s work and are grateful to see our yarns in her latest design. We encourage you to pick up a copy of the issue (head to our profile for the link!) and cast on the Rancher’s Cowl in colors representing home for you, wherever you may live.

Pattern: Ranchers Cowl by Tressa Weidenaar

Our deepest thanks to Farm & Fiber Knits/Long Thread Media for sharing their pages with us.

A note about our yarn: you may notice a few colors are currently out of stock; never fear, we have been busy spinning up a storm behind the scenes to have more Worsted in time for the Fall. We have a few other exciting things to share with you soon—subscribe to our newsletter for our upcoming updates. We can’t wait to share more details with you in the coming weeks.
