Muga muga One-of-a-kind botanical (real flowers and resin) and illustrated jewelery (original watercolour art

Muga Muga started as n small sideline in 2010 by artist Marjorie Human who completed her Masters in Fine Arts and has a passion for craft and entrepeneurship. The business grew into a full time job with 4 employees and more regular service providers. We supply wholesale to retail shops and sell directly to the public online .mugamuga.co.za and at Markets. Our passion is to share our creativit

y with our supporters through our jewellery. We see so much beauty in the details, patterns and colours of nature and want to share that with you. We believe that art and imagination is powerful and healing and we hope to grow more in coming years and that we can inspire other entrepeneurs to use their talents to support themselves and create employment.

We were captivated by the ancient beauty of this White African Rhino. It’s gray and black clay like colors reflect its closeness with the soil of Africa.

Here you can catch a glimpse of our process — from the original watercolour, inspired by a photo captured by a friend in the Kruger National Park, to the final artwork transformed into wearable art.

I just moved our small thorn tree indoors so I could pick and press its last leaves before winter. To me, the thorn tree is such a beautiful symbol of resilience. Thorn, or Acacia, trees can be found all across the African landscape — from the cold highlands to the bushveld — surviving in some of the harshest conditions.

One of the main reasons they thrive so well, and my favourite thing about them, is their incredibly deep root systems that can reach underground water sources far below the surface. There’s something so beautiful and grounding about that quiet strength.
