Sarah Feldman

Sarah Feldman Hi, I'm Sarah. Designer of modest women's fashion. Based in CT but ship worldwide. I'm Sarah Feldman, I was born and bred in Johannesburg, South Africa.

I have 10 siblings, some are rabbis, musicians, a photographer, artists and educators. My dad is a Rabbi / spiritual leader. My mom is the most generous person I know - she had 11 kids so I think that says enough about what an amazing person she is. I'm married to a wonderful man who is also a Rabbi. I'm a mom of 5 kids. So life is busy but exciting and I'd like to share it all with you. I've alwa

ys had a love for fashion. Growing up in an Orthodox religious home, there were always guidelines on dressing modestly. I often challenged some of the restrictions, but I've come to accept it, embrace it and believe that you can still be fashionable and modest at the same time. The one does not have to contradict the other. I'm passionate about helping people look their best, so that they can feel their best and therefore be the best person that they can possibly be. This year, I launched the Sarah Feldman fashion line which embraces modest stylish clothing. Through creating this, I am able to live my passion, adorn ladies with beautiful clothing, and which is my ultimate vision. Would love to hear your feedback and comments and get to know you.

I wanted to share something as we get ready to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. For me, this is a special time of year—a chance to pause, reflect on the past twelve months, and look forward to a fresh start.
One of the deepest ideas from Chassidic tradition is that Rosh Hashanah isn’t just a new calendar year, it’s the moment when the entire world is renewed. It’s an opportunity for each of us to take a spiritual reset, to realign our lives with a sense of purpose and meaning. I find this idea so powerful, and its message of a fresh start is something everyone can appreciate, regardless of what you believe.
As I reflect on the past year, I’m truly so grateful for your incredible support. Thank you for being a part of our journey and for helping to make this past year so special.
Just a heads-up that our online shop and physical store will be closed this Tuesday, September 23, and Wednesday, September 24, as we observe the holiday.
Wishing you and your loved ones a sweet, healthy, and happy new year. And may the new year bring a sense of peace to our world for everyone.
With gratitude,
Sarah

I love having photos but find photoshoots super stressful.
This time it was a very last minute decision the day before Chaim left overseas to Yeshiva and was available for half an hour so we met at the park. I told the kids to choose anything that’s blue or white and we actually had lots of fun. ( I also can’t believe that Laya is now of age to wear the SF Adina T shirt and start wearing my clothes :) I’ll probably never get around to printing these so having a memory on the grid is where it’s at right now. Thank you Hashem for these blessings in my life. 🙏

If you’ve been following me on social media, you’ll know that I’m still in Johannesburg with my family due to pilot strikes.
We were supposed to return to Cape Town on Monday - and it looks like we will still be here a few more days - but I know that Hashem (G-d) has a plan for us.
And maybe part of that plan is for all of us to get together - in a meaningful way.
For me, SF has always been more than a clothing brand.
It is about a lifestyle.
A lifestyle of balance, spiritual growth, and harmony - with the aesthetic harmony of fashion embodying the inner harmony of the soul.
My passion for the SF brand has always been about helping women actualize their best selves, whether by designing beautiful clothing and bags, leading spiritual walks and discussions in nature, or hosting spiritual soul circles, and sharing my own personal journey of development and spiritual growth.
While in Johannesburg, I keep on meeting new people who feel like they know me from being part of our online platforms and sharing spaces.
I have been wanting for a while to create an empowering platform for women of all ages and spiritual and religious backgrounds.
And so, while G-d has kept us in Johannesburg, I decided to organize a last-minute, in-person get-together where we can meet, chat, learn, and grow.
The event will feature the dynamic and inspiring, spiritual and psychological gurus who are helping develop the personal growth space of the future.
It is all VERY much last minute, but as the great Jewish sage Hillel famously said, ‘If Not Now, When?’
Thanks to our two incredible speakers, I am proud to invite you to our first event in Johannesburg
‘FROM OUTER GRACE TO INNER GLOW’
which will take place...
TOMORROW!
Wednesday, July 23 at 7:30 pm.
We will meet and hear from:
RelationShift Coach
Chayale Tzukernik of New York
and
NeuroScience Coach and IFS Practitioner
Shira Gutnick of Johannesburg
The event is free of charge

My most used and favorite ACCESSORY of the year! 💙Rosa shot this when we went for a walk on Sunday and looking at my feed I realized how little I post.
I’m more of a stories girl because I have to think before posting but I needed this reminder on my feed to take advantage of this beautiful city when it stops raining. The rain had literally stopped ten minutes before and I needed to get the kids out after a lot of chilling and screen time at home. This beautiful walk cost nothing and there was just beauty all around. We spotted about 8 waterfalls on the walk ( there’s even a place to MIkvah if you ever wanted.) Some kids took bikes and others were pushed but what’s great about this spot is that you’re on the mountain and the road is paved so if you don’t have trail shoes you can still walk. Do yourself a favor and drive past the Cable Car on Tafelberg Rd all the way down till the boom and park your car. I think it’s about 2,5km till the mountain trail so you can do a 5km walk there and back and thank me after:) Let me know if you’ve discovered this gem?

I’m not that great at posting these days but need a reminder of Purim on the grid! Yes my son wore my wig and yes I dressed up my baby as a girl and not sure how I ever fit into that blue dress but it was a wonderful Purim and a part of my heart was missing Chaim in Detroit.

My plan was to go to Paris for my 40th but Hashem (G-d) thankfully had another plan… feeding my little blessing Zali every 3 hours is keeping me at home and I’m definitely grateful for that. I’m also blessed to have spent my birthday with family at Boschendal for a picnic lunch ( yes it was my idea and with my old age I’ve learnt to express how I want to celebrate - without having expectations and then being disappointed 😜.) I’m also blessed with the best friends from our community who joined me for a mountain walk and a coffee afterwards ( Sorry I didn’t ask you permission before posting - I need to remember each and every one of you who came and made the effort on a Monday morning.) Lchaim to the next 40 years and pls don’t feel like you need to wish me Happy Birthday - you already did 2 weeks ago, this is just a reminder for myself on my feed of all my blessings and it goes without saying that we missed Chaim!

I heard a quote yesterday, “ I can’t create a new beginning but every day I can choose to create a new ending.” This is my theme for this new Year and the energy I want to tap into. I want to let go of the past and all the things that stop me for feeling like I’m enough, worthy, and that I am light and I want to live the best version of myself this year by creating a new ending. It’s been a really hard year for all of us and at the same time for me personally there’s been a lot of joy and blessing and I want to wish each of you that this year we only see the revealed good , the joy , the blessing and the special light and souls that we are, so that we can fully align with who G-d wants us to be and without using our coping mechanisms that no longer serve us! Wishing you all a beautiful, connected and realigned New Year With lots of love from me and may our hostages come home and all the soldiers should be able to celebrate at home with their families! x(Ps: We took this before Chaim left to Yeshiva and yes I’m still wearing my SF Mara Dress… 6 years later!)

I want to clarify one thing which I got quite a lot of questions about and that is - aren’t you worried if something goes wrong or there’s an emergency?? So first of all , the midwife is monitoring your babies heart rate the whole time and she does bring oxygen and many things that you would need if the need came but having said that - if you are in the hospital and you need an emergency Caesar , you need to wait 20 min for an anesthetist and doctor to show up and If I had to get to the hospital where my Gynae is it would take about 10 minutes. Another factor to consider is there are so many infections these days that people catch in the hospital - in the last month I’ve had atleast 3 mothers tell me that they caught an infection in the hospital so you definitely need to weigh the pros and cons for yourself and I also want to say that my midwife showed me a few videos of home births that she did where the baby was breached and it’s unbelievable. Midwives are trained and probably do more natural births than doctors these days so you’re really in good hands.
And I just want to end off with a special prayer for anyone who is trying to have a kid and is struggling - don’t give up and please G-d your prayers and wishes should be answered this year! X Hope I’ve answered all the questions otherwise feel free to ask …

My midwife waited for the cord to stop pulsating and then asked me to cut it and after that the ice cream container came into good use 😝 and delivered the placenta and then gave Oshy the baba to have some skin to skin while I showered and got into pjs and got into bed. Five minutes later my mom brought my kids home and their running into the room to meet their brother was absolutely priceless. All I can say is I’m super grateful to my team for holding the space and literally assisting every step of the way and obviously to G-d for entrusting me with this precious soul. 🫶 Once you give birth you literally feel like you can do any thing in the world that you put your mind to. Our minds are really strong and at the end of the day that’s what got me through it with a lot of praying. My reason for sharing or over sharing is because I really want to encourage women to listen to their inner voice and what they want and if you feel like you are not being heard then it’s upto you to make a change and find someone who will hear what you want - and if you have any questions, you can def reach out to me and I’m happy to help just from my experience and will try and put you in touch with the right people.
If you read this far - then thank you for coming along for the bumpy but beautiful ride. Continued in next post

2 hrs later I asked my doula to come over and an hour after that my midwife came to the house. At that time my kids were in school ( everyone wanted to know if my kids were home and DEF not!) and by 3:15 when they were due to come home, my mom thankfully was here and picked them up and kept them busy for an hour and a half.
Basically the contractions were very intense and I got into the bath because water kind of helps take the edge off , and my midwife checked and saw that I was only 6cm and I honestly thought at that stage I was 9/10cm Bec of the intensity.
She realized that my body needed some assistance and went in there and started folding over my cervix and told me to start pushing at 8cm. It felt like nothing I’ve ever experienced because there was no break .. I honestly felt like I was a caged animal in my own body and no position or breathing tools were helping - my doula was giving me remedies all along but at the end of the day I was praying ( more like screaming ) to G-d to make it end and QUICKLY. In the meantime my husband was praying and I feel bad for him because when you can’t do anything to help your wife when she’s going mad - you feel kind of helpless but as I said the only thing that was helpful was praying.
Basically in short 20 min later , I birthed my own baby and it was surreal! Once I had pushed the head and shoulders , my midwife told me to take my hands and take him out and there is no feeling in the world that compares the feeling of relief of pain and seeing a perfect child who is healthy and breathing and I put him on my chest and just enjoyed the high after the madness.
