Shooting your collection is one of the most rewarding things you can do as a designer. Its the first time that your designs come to life! But it was all the amazing friends that I worked with on this shoot that made it truly great!

As part of winning the 2014 Foschini Design Awards, I was given the opportunity to design commercial items inspired by the ss2014 Modern Botanics trend, see some of my designs below being currently merchandised in Foschini stores across the country!

I was so pleased that Foschini developed a silk screening template just for me, so that my crop tops could have a stunning Strelitzia placement print on the front panel.......Thanks Foschini!

This week I will be posting about my Foschini Design Awards journey everyday. I won the 2014 national competition and the 2015 awards is about to take off this Friday with a new round of entrants. So I thought it fitting to look back on my journey.

So it all began with the submission of my Isishweshwe Warrior Woman Avant Garde and my Androgynous Denim Boyfriend Jeans.

So after the busiest ten months of my life, with being involved in so many exciting competitions and initiatives, I thought it only fitting that I finally start a page to track my involvements within the South African fashion industry and beyond.

A quick recap over the last ten months I:

Designed and made 4 of the dresses worn by the 2014 Miss SA finalists in the opening scene of the pageant. This was only possible because of the best fashion college in SA, CTCFD, and the incredibly talented team of designers, Cara, Charis and Ricci who made the other 8 dresses.

Won first place in the Foschini Design Awards.

Was a 2014 Elle Rising Star finalist.

Was featured in the November issue of Elle SA (still in store)

Presented my graduation collection, Modern Eclectic, at the 2014 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa.

And there is more in the pipeline which is all top secret and cannot yet be spoken about but will be coming sooooon......
