The unique designs and fabrics are a fusion of African ethnic , modern and bohemian. The manufacturing studio is situated in the beautiful Muizenberg area in Cape Town. We are supporting upliftment of the underprivileged by creating job opportunities and teaching young students a trade.
The idea of Guineafowls Rock! was born many years ago. The mission is to transfer skills to ladies to create jobs earning an income to provide for their families. This goes across all cultural groups from Africa.
I am in the process of designing a clothing range inspired by traditional African fabrics, but with a modern feel. I only use natural fabrics (shweshwe, which is a South African fabric, African Wax Prints and pure cotton).
The ladies who do the manufacturing for me are from the Cape Flats, and are part of the NGO “Where Rainbows Meet”. The organisation has several projects, of which one is to manufacture clothing www.whererainbowsmeet.org
