We have been quiet, but here is a new sensory cube to show that we are still here 🤍
Let's reintroduce our Leeba sensory cube and have a looksie at their purpose:
A sensory cube is a soft toy designed to engage a baby’s touch, sight, and sensory exploration all at once.
♡ Each side of the cube is covered in a different fabric to give varied tactile feedback.
Our fabrics are ultra-soft and plush for gentle soothing. We use variable fabrics such as smooth and slightly textured for a lighter touch. We also add a Granny Square with a wool texture that’s slightly nubby but safe.
♡ The mixture of textures helps build fine motor skills and gives babies new sensory input as they grasp, rub, and pat each side of the sensory cube.
♡ Along the edges of our sensory cubes, we beechwood rings in 3 different sizes. Beechwood is untreated, smooth, and naturally hard enough for safe chewing. The natural wood grain also adds a subtle tactile and visual element that is different from the different fabrics.
♡ Short strips of satin ribbons are sewn into the seams and corners. Babies love pulling, twisting, and scrunching ribbons. The varied ribbon widths also help with finger dexterity as babies learn to pinch and hold.
♡ Our cubes are 15cm on each side and lightweight, with hidden stitching and rounded corners for safety. This size makes it perfect for little hands to hold.
The real treat is how our sensory cube combines tactile variety and visual interest in one object, a baby can hold and explore independently.
