Weekends are for and !
It is on Saturdays and Sundays that I step into the world - not as an MSc Candidate or a sessional lecturer - but a female who is trying to introduce her business to the world.
And so, on Saturday, Mosima Phakane and I were vendors at the Together event, coordinated by the Goethe-Institut e.V. (in South Africa) and Levi's Haus of Strauss Africa (Levi Strauss & Co.). We got an opportunity to not only sell our products but connect and grow our networks in business.
As an owner of a , it was a pleasurable experience being in the company of people that understood why we (Bags by AMANAKI ) do what we do and who also supported us by purchasing some of our products.
The highlight of the day was getting acquainted with Jacendra (Jesse) Naidoo, the managing director at . His organisation is doing astounding work in textile and empowering people with disabilities in South Africa. Mr (Jacendra (Jesse) Naidoo also gifted my business with several pairs of jeans which we are looking forward to into beautiful bags soon.
I am exceedingly grateful for who went out of her way to get me to sign up, Thoriso Moseneke who made it possible for me to be a vendor and lastly, Anele Mazibuko who continues to look out for our small businesses.
