Soweto Fashion Week Soweto Fashion Week is a major Bi-Annual Marketing & Advertising platform for fashion designers & corporates. It was established in October 2011 .

It is South Africa's primary representative at the BRICS International Fashion Federation, enabling the global showcasing of South African talent Encompassing two seasons, Autumn and Summer collections. Our vision is to introduce a change In the face of modelling and fashion week runways in South Africa and to help grow the South African fashion industry. Soweto fashion week was founded by Stephen

Manzini to promote talented S.African designers on a global scale. During our May 2012 fashion week we had an explosion of media coverage worldwide. In 2013 Soweto fashion week was then invited to showcase their garments at the Switzerland fashion days in Zurich as well as fashion week Las Vegas USA including other global platforms.

50 Years of June 16: Honouring the Legacy, Celebrating the Future 🇿🇦

As South Africa marks the 50th Anniversary of the 1976 Soweto Uprising,we pause to honour the courage, resilience, and sacrifice of the young people whose voices changed the course of our nation's history.

Though this special exhibition during Soweto Fashion Week Autum/winter edition, presented in partnership with Joburg Tourism we celebrate the power of creativity, culture, and entrepreneurship as living expressions of the freedom they fought for. From fashion and design to craftsmanship and storytelling, each piece on display reflects the spirit of a generation that continues to inspire innovation and self-expression.

Today, we remember the heroes of June 16, 1976, and reaffirm our commitment to creating platforms where African talent can thrive, be seen, and shape the future.
