NAMARA — MY JOURNEY
I started learning clothing alterations while I was still in school. As soon as I understood how garments could be reshaped and transformed, my mind shifted. I knew that when I finished school, I wanted to become a fashion designer.
I didn’t have anyone to inspire or guide me — I joined the fashion journey blindly, driven only by passion and belief.
After completing school, I began learning how to make clothes and launched my first brand, Occasion View Designs. That same year, I was given a chance to showcase by the CEO of Kids Fashion Runway. Imagine — just learning how to make clothes and suddenly being invited to showcase alongside big designers. I was scared. At that time, I only knew how to make kids’ clothes, mostly for girls 😂. But we showed up — and we showcased.
That was in 2021.
As I look back from the day I started this journey to now, I see growth. I have learned so much, showcased three times, and dressed many artists — including some of the biggest artists in Zambia 🇿🇲.
After deep reflection, research, and development, I made the decision to move forward with a new identity. I will no longer use Occasion View Designs as my brand name. The official brand name is now NAMARA COUTURE.
Because NAMARA says a lot about who we are, where we come from, and where we are going.
You may be wondering what couture is — and what I intend to do now.
Couture is about excellence. It is about detail, craftsmanship, and intention. It is fashion created with precision, time, and heart — not mass-produced, not rushed.
Now, it is time to elevate.
With NAMARA COUTURE, I am stepping into high-end fashion. Every piece will be carefully designed, hand-finished, and tailored to perfection. This is about creating statement garments, timeless silhouettes, and designs that speak luxury, confidence, and identity.
This is not just a new name.
It is a new level.
NAMARA COUTURE represents growth, vision, and a commitment to create fashion that truly stands apart.
