Many people see leadership as standing in front of the crowd. I see leadership as sitting among the people and listening.

In this picture, I am not wearing expensive shoes. I am not standing on a platform. I am not separated from the community by titles or status. I am sitting in the same dust, listening to the voices of the people I seek to serve.

Because before I can speak for the people of Roma Constituency, I must first hear them.

I have learned that the greatest problems facing our communities cannot be understood from air-conditioned offices. They are understood in the compounds, in our homes, on our streets, and through conversations with mothers, youths, marketeers, workers, students, and our elderly citizens.

The dust on my feet is a reminder that leadership is service. It is a reminder that every child without opportunities, every young person without a job, every man and woman struggling to provide for their families and every community left behind deserves a leader who will listen and act.

I do not want to lead above the people. I want to lead with the people.

On 13th August 2026, I humbly ask for your vote. Together, let us build a Roma Constituency where every voice matters, every person is respected, and every community has the opportunity to thrive.

I’m on the ballot paper then what?

But this was never just about a name.
This is about a generation that has waited too long to be heard.
A generation of young women told to sit down, stay quiet, and wait their turn while the future was negotiated without them.

I am 27 years old.
I am standing for Member of Parliament for Roma Constituency not because politics is easy but because silence has become too expensive.

They will ask: “Is she experienced enough?”
But I ask: experienced in what?
Experienced in watching our people struggle while promises become speeches and speeches become dust?

My generation does not want politics of survival anymore.
We want politics of vision.
Politics of dignity.
Politics that understands technology, innovation, climate, jobs, education, and the rising power of Africa.

I am not entering politics to decorate the system.
I am entering politics to challenge it.
To modernize it.
To humanize it.
Because the future cannot be built by leaders who are afraid of change.
Roma deserves leadership that listens before it speaks.
Leadership that sees young people not as campaign tools, but as architects of tomorrow.
Leadership that believes a market woman, a father fighting for his family, a student, a single mother, a graduate without a job, and a child in a public school all deserve the same respect and opportunity.

This campaign is bigger than me.
It is for every young girl who has ever been underestimated.
Every citizen tired of corruption dressed as leadership.
Every dream delayed by politics that has forgotten the people.
And now my name is on the ballot paper.
Then what?
Then we rise.
Then we organize.
Then we vote.
Then we prove that courage is stronger than fear.
Then we show Zambia that a new era is not coming someday, it is already here.
I am not asking Roma to believe in perfection.
I am asking Roma to believe in possibility.
The future has finally introduced itself.
And this time, it wears the face of a fearless young woman. Chungu Zhane is my name!
